Consultation
One must consult with the workers who are involved, or are
indirectky related to the issues of health and safety. One must take an
opinion of the health and safety representative (HSR) if there.
There must be clear agreed procedures to work for the employer and
his/her employees.
One has to complete the consultation procedures when identification
or assessment of hazards is being done and one has to take decisions
on how to control those risks.

Risk Assessment Process
The procedure of risk assessment is carried out in order to ensure
safety of to the workers in the industry. This procedure will safeguard
the employees, the workplace, business setup and also abides as per
the laws.
One has to follow certain steps in order to carry out the procedure of
risk assessment:
Identification of hazards- this can be done through
various methods such as by sightseeing or by asking the
employees.
To decide the at-risk population and means of risks-
once the hazards have been identified then it is
necessary to figure out the population which is at
maximum risk, and what all things can cause them harm
or damage.
To estimate the risks and find out the measures of
control- by this the risks can be prevented either
completely or can be controlled to some extent so that
there is minimal damage.
To document the results- every minute detail of the risk
assessment should be jotted down as it is a legislative
requirement and this also creates standards of safety for
future assessment procedures.
Retrospect the assessment and streamline when
required- the assessment needs retrospection for
further evaluation of the condition and then it needs to
be streamlined regularly for future incidents.

Implementation
An emergency plan of action needs to be implemented in the
workplace in case of any fire or natural calamity etc. The main aim of
this is to teach the employees and make them ready for the
emergency, if any, arises in the workplace.

implementation/
Monitoring of processes
The procedure needs to be examined closely in order to see that if
such situation prevails in future, is the workplace accessible enough
for the employees to evacuate without panicking.
For such type of examinations the drills are performed within the
period of three months regularly without any notice to check whether
the employees can evacuate the workplace effectively within the
confined time or not in association with the education and care
service regulations of the country.

and-evacuation.pdf
Identification of Training Needs
Training needs of the employees should be taken care of. As the new
staff is added to the workplace they must be given a good orientation,
and also, they should be given the necessary training for safety of
themselves in case of any natural or man-made emergency.
The training includes the techniques of safety in case of
any emergency and how to respond within a confined
duration towards that emergency.
Various methods of evacuating safely.
Basic emergency medical treatment and assistance to
other members.
Appropriate communication between the person in
charge of announcing the emergency and the employees
at the workplace.
Regular testing of the mergency procedures.

potential emergency situationa and streamline the data.
All the risks examined must be included and not made

limited to some of the situations of emergency.
Should implement specified procedures of safety from
all the risks and ensure full safety awareness among the
employees.
Ensure whether appropriate rehearsals are done for the
safety measures and should aim at evaluating all the
emergency and evacuation procedures of staff.

Recording of documentation
Appropriate documentation should be maintained as it might be
helpful in claiming the insurance, bills, liabilities, budget control and
records of other equipment maintainence. The record should be kept
in a centralised manner a backup of all the records should be made
which will help retrieve data in case of urgency. Decisions and actions
should be taken under the supervision of the higher officials.
