Reflective Journal: Leadership Style Analysis and Skill Reflection

INTRODUCTION
Self reflection is the process which is targeted to look into a mirror and explaining the
different experience which is being processed by me at the time of conducting the presentation in
the University. This report is based upon the experience which was gather by me by conducting
the report in regards to leadership style used by Jeff Bezos. This report highlights the experience
of conducting the report and the way we are able to gather different type of employment skill
such as ICT usage skill, problem solving skill, time management, team work, communication
and research skill of mine.
MAIN BODY
Description
Me and my team was given a task to prepare a presentation on the Leadership style which
is used by the CEO of Amazon Jeff Bezos. Main purpose behind providing these sort of module
in University was to develop good sort of employment skill of the individual. All the team
member was having their task which has to be complete and in the end all the data was gather to
present the outcome of the module. For these project I was having the responsibility of sourcing
the variety of data, to improve my research skill. This has to be done in a way that I used to
submit the outcome in prescribed time period, this has impacted my time and self management
skill. Data which are collected need to be analysis by different ICT tool, to improve efficiency of
using ICT tool. Outcome of my task need to be linked with the other team member in a way that
there is some sort of clarity. This may build good communication and team work skill. Also any
difficulty which is faced by anyone need to be solved in the group these may help in improving
problem solving skill.
Feeling
There were many different type of feeling which was possess by me throughout the
project, as in the initial stage I was nervous as it was the first time I was carrying out any such
type of activity by my own. As I used to hesitate in communicating my point of view, also I used
to find it difficult to work in the group environment but as time passed I was comfortable in
doing the same. There was positive sort of the feeling which was possessed by me as I was
finding the task as fun as I used to finish my work on time and also able to find out the solution

of different issue very easily in the module, it was the time I used to source the data from
different sources. After that at the time of analysing the different data which was sourced I
started loosing some sort of confidence in carrying out some analytical data as I was finding it
difficult to understand the ICT tool, these has created some negative feeling in me but as I was
able to complete the project successfully in the University I was happy to do the same in the
organization.
Evaluation
As identified above main purpose of these sort of module was to develop good sort of
employment skill of mine and it has develop some of the same. As looking at the skill which was
developed by me was communication, Problem solving, time management and research skill. As
the main responsibility of mine in the project was to source the variety of the data from different
sources which has helped me in building good sort of research skill of mine. Also, this report has
asked me to pass on the different outcome of my task to the other in the team, these has
eventually helped me in developing good sort of communication skill of mine. Another two skill
of mine that is time management and problem solving has been developed due to
interdependency of both the skill on each other. As I was able to manage my work on time due to
proper scheduling of different task in University. This used to offer me a ample period of time to
solve the variety of problem which is faced by me this has helped me in building good problem
solving skill of mine in the long run.
At the same time there were two skill which has created some sort of the issue for me in
context of building good team work and usage of ICT tool by me in the module. Reason behind
the same which was identified by me was that In the team all the individual used to has a
different thought process and all used to keep different opinion in the team. So it eventually used
to get it difficult to coordinate and carry out different task in the team environment. At the same
time. Also, as it was the first time I was using any sort of ICT tool in the organization it has
thrown good sort of the challenges for me to understand the same. As I used to find it very
difficult to understand the different ICT tool to analysis the different data which is sourced by
me.
Analysis
There were many thing which went well and many which did not go that well in the
project. Looking at the positive first then can be said that collection of different data from

various sources and passing on the same in the team went very well reason behind the same is
the communication, research and problem solving skill of mine. At the same time activity such
as Analysis the data and linking of the team project does not went that well in the module reason
might be not able to adopt the ICT tool and also not able to understand the opinion of other
individual in the module. There were many situation which has also occurred in the project
which was not defended by me as proficiently as I could be. As at the time of analysing different
source data I was getting it difficult to select the source through which data can be collected, for
the same reason I would have taken help of my senior this would have helped me in saving and
managing the time in better way in the organization.
Conclusion
After going through the project and conducting the module for the organization in can be
concluded that I was able to overcome the different challenges related to carrying out the module
for the organization. Also, I was able to develop good sort of employment skill of mine.
Thinking about them after completion of the module it can be said that there were many different
way through which I could have respond to various of different type. As at the time of managing
the interest of all the team member, we all should have discuss the interest of all the team
member together and would have come upon the best solution. This would have helped in
defending the challenge in better. Also, for performing the communication skill we were having
the good alternative to chose better number of communication tool to communicate in the team
environment.
Action Plan
To develop my ICT usage skill, I will be taking part in the different conference
and seminar, reason behind the same is identified that these seminar and conference will help me
in getting the practical as well as theoretical knowledge in regards of the different ICT tool
which can be used in the organization. Also, I will be observing the different senior in the
University who uses the ICT tool and on the basis of the same I will try to draw out different
result in the University. At the same time to develop team working skill of mine in the
organization, I will be taking help of listening skill of mine in the long run. As I will try to listen
the different opinion of team member and on the basis of the same would look to improve my
team working skill in the future.

Also I will look to build on to some of the skill in context of communication, problem
solving and time management skill of mine. For the same reason I will look to take help of the
tutor and different senior so that I am able to improve the efficiency of the variety of different
type of the skill set possess by me. For example: To develop the communication skill of mine I
would look to use different alternative to communicate in team. To develop the problem solving
skill of mine I will be looking to build good sort of patience skill of mine.
CONCLUSION
After going through the above report it has been concluded that conducting the module
for the University has helped me in building good research, time management, problem solving
and communication skill of mine in the long run. At the same time their were many different
type of the skill in which I used to lack somehow such as Team working and Usage of ICT skill.
For the same reason after that report concludes the Action plan to overcome the same.
