INTRODUCTION
Portfolio is defined as the work done by students in their academic tenure. This reflects the
ability and skills that are developed within student while managing the activities and tasks
provided in universities. These are helpful for doing the projects and tasks given in universities
in effective manner (Baker, C. N.and et. al., ). This provides a purpose for the individual to
maintain the employability skills and abilities of a person. This is helpful for the student while
managing the grade promotions, graduation etc. of the student. In this report, there is reflection
about the skills needed by an individual for completing the projects of universities.
SKILL REFLECTION
I have adopted and developed various skills while my academic tenure. These included
various skills that helped me to develop my career and attain organizational goals. It is essential
for me to have different skills that lead me to a better life. Some of the skills and described
below-
Time and task management skill:
There are different skills and abilities which are required by me to manage the task and
projects given to me. The main thing which is most important while managing the projects is
time management. This is very essential for me to manage my work and time so that I can be
able to manage the work properly. There are different tasks provided to me which have to be
done in given time. There is requirement of managing time and task effectively for working in
proper manner.

Group formation:
There are basically two types of groups present within business environment. It is learned by me
in the academic tenure that formal groups and informal groups are understood be me for
handling the projects in effective manner. It is provided that I must know how to work in groups
for completing the projects in proper manner. It is important that group formation is done
properly for managing the tasks and completing them in proper manner (Basturkmen, 2014).
Groups are formed within classrooms for completing the project assigned in given time. Groups
consists of different type of individuals working in the same team and collaborating for
achieving similar targets. I have managed to avoid conflicts and managing them to do work in
proper manner.

Presentation Skills
The presentation skills are needed by me to manage the work in effective manner. It is
important for me as a student to grab opportunities to give presentations. This will help for
analyzing the concept and aspect in proper manner. A good presentation is provided to the
classmates and enhancing the skills for making other people understand the concept in effective
manner. It is essential for me to have good presentation skills so that I am able to motivate others
in analyzing how to work in proper manner. I was successfully able to acquire the skill related to
different stages that are required to provide a effective and good presentation and it consist of
basic six steps treating with understanding of our audiences and ending with the process of
delivery and evaluation.

Communication Skills
Communication skill is defined as the best skill that have to be used in effective manner.
This is one the best skill that as a student helped me to work in effective manner. For an
individual who is having communication with others, it is effective for me to convince others and
managing the work in proper manner. Communication is very important for managing different
tasks and projects in an effective manner. By using the communication, I am able to manage the
work in proper manner and achieving the goals effectively.

Academic integrity:
I have been able to learn about the integrity that is a virtue of a character and has three
steps such as discerning, acting and saying openly. As a student I have been able to learn that
there is requirement of being honest and recognize in detail what impact I am able to put on
others. It has helped me in development of overall character and the acts of wholeness. I was
able to develop the skills of academic integrity on which it is in concern with the ethical and

moral issues. I also learnt a opposite concept such as academic honesty that is related to some of
the unfair advantage and not working honesty. So, I was able to develop an understanding of this
concept in a better manner.

Academic writing skills:
This is another factor which is helpful evaluating the project work effectively. There are
different kind of writing in the academics. It is essential for the student to write and analsye the
concepts for doing the written work in proper manner. It is important for the me to develop
academic writing skills so that work is done in essential manner. There are different types of
academic writing such as structured, complex, formal; and clear. This is important for me to
evaluate the work in proper manner and attain goals. There is need of providing the writing skills
and abilities for completing the projects.

Value of reflection
It is important for me to evaluate my strength and weakness. This is effectively done by
writing reflection. This has helped me to develop an overview about my skills and how to
manage the work in effective manner. It is important for me to develop good skills that will help
to attain targets and goals. Reflection is helpful for managing the work properly and achieving
the targets on specified time frame. It is properly managed that reflection is written so that I am
able to do my work properly. Reflection is helpful for me to make transition from passive action
and attaining active learning.

Employability skills:
There are some major attributes and factors which are associated with employability
skills. It is important that employability skills are developed so that I have become employable.
There are various skills which includes leadership and self development, creativity, social and
ethical awareness. These have to developed so that I can attract employers towards hiring me.

CV writing:
It is also a skill that is will be very helpful once my academic career will be completed
and I will be into staring my job career. The first step will be to prepare a effective CV. It is a
skill that is required compulsorily by a student while he is willing to start a career. In this a CV
has to be used which consist of a detailed information about outlining in brief about various
achievements, experiences, awards and qualifications. It will be able to demonstrate the potential
I will posses and reflect it in best possible manner to increase my employability for my
perspective employer in the due course of my job. I learnt that there is great importance of a
good and attractive CV that is going to be very helpful in my future.
Writing a cover letter
While attending the classrooms, it is essential that I know how to write cover letter. It is
important for me that I know how to write cover letter. This will help in analsying the skills and
abilities required for writing a good cover letter which is able to analyse experience of person.
Cover letter includes opening paragraph, body paragraphs and end with a closing paragraph.
Cover letter must not have any grammatical error and it is written in effective manner.
Plagiarism
Plagiarism is defined as illegal action that is not permissible; for a student. It is important
that all students must ensure that they are not doing cheating and copying of work already done
by other students. This is an offense and working in proper manner so that work is developed in
effective manner. It is important for me to not copy from any article or journal. It is essential for
me to always rephrase and evaluate my work.

Reading skills
Reading skill plays a very important part in life of a person. It is important for me to have
good reading skills so that I may analsye the concept and aspects of topics. While my academic
tenure, I have involved in reading so that I can manage the work effectively. For me, it is
essential to have this skill to complete the work and do my projects effectively. It is also helpful
for me to read articles and journals which will be helpful in completing the research projects in
effective manner.

HOW SKILLS HELP IN ACADEMIC LIFE
The above skills are developed by me for managing the work and tasks of college in
specified time frame. It is important for me to manage my work for increasing the experience
level and skills. While taking the classroom lectures, it is important for me to manage the time
taken for completing the project tasks. I have provided my full efforts to enhancing my skills and
managing my work effectively. It is essential for me to analyze the factors which are helpful for
completing tasks and projects effectively. I have gained experience and knowledge while
attending different sessions of the classroom. It is important for me to manage the work
effectively for completing project work in time. Different submissions and assignments are to be
completed within time for managing the projects and developing skills. I have gained confidence
while managing the project work. The different skills which I have developed during my

academic tenure includes presentation skills, plagiarism. These are helpful for doing the project
work effectively and achieving the targets in better manner. It is essential to complete the goals
and projects in specified time so that I can get good grades and results. This will affect my
position within class. These skills are needed for developing confidence and attaining goals in
less time. It is essential for me to manage the work effectively. CV is a factor that is used by the
students for providing information about whole work which they have done in academic life.
Thus, it is important for me to develop an attractive CV for providing detailed information about
my achievements and work within the academic tenure. All the skills are helpful for me to
manage the work in proper manner for gaining confidence and achieving goals. I have achieved
success in developing skills that will help me to do work properly and attaining goals. I have
presentation skills and reflection skills so that I am able to analyze my work and know what are
the things in which I am going wrong. Reflection provides me to evaluate what are my strengths
and These skills actually help to improve the employability of a employee in comparison with
other individuals and also in case of providing a competitive advantage to a individual in the
changing external scenario where there has been a very high competition.
CONCLUSION
From the above discussion, it is concluded that skills and abilities are most important factors
that are helpful for managing the academic work. It is essential for me to manage the work
effectively for using the skills in proper manner. A student must have different skills for
completing the project work. Any organization hires people who are talented and skilled and able
to achieve the targets in specified time frame. It is essential for me to develop my skills so that I
ca manage the work effectively. The above mentioned skills in the report are helpful for
completing the project and tasks in proper manner.
