INTRODUCTION
Study skills refers to an arrangement of multiple skills that handle the process of learning
as well as gaining new information or knowledge, retaining knowledge for life long as well as
dealing with many study projects and assessments. Study skills are separate techniques which
can be learned and developed with in short period of time as well as applied it to all area of study
(Asonitou and Hassall, 2019). There are various type of study skills which helps a learner to
learn and understand more in their academic life to achieve success in higher studies and
professional career. There are various types of study skills which enables a leaner to complete
their project during academic life such as communication skills, time management skills,
information technology skills, team work skills and many more.
This report highlights application of evaluation and reflection method to examine
demonstrated and developed higher level skills as well as behaviours in order to identify areas
for development. Further, it covers application of research and information skills into the
opportunities for self enhancement and development. At last, it covers application of personal
and professional development planning to specify stated areas for improvement.
PART 1
Audit and development of key skills
Provide an overview of skills development during the learning
Skills development refers to a process of determining skill gap as well as assuring that
people develop these skills during process of learning. As study skills determine ability of a
person to complete project, execute plan addition to accomplish goals. Skill development or
training is an essential part of an student and individuals life. During the learning process,
initially I was quite nervous due to unfamiliar environment and people. But in the mid of
learning process I develop my confidence and increase my morale in order to learn new things
and gain knowledge about various people and their mindsets (Coady, Byrne and Casey, 2018).
As pother classmates, teachers helps me to interact better with them, know more about
themselves, and their nature, behaviours, mindsets, language and culture. As I developed various
skills such IT skills, communication skills, team work skills and developed my knowledge about
various subject like business, environment, market, technology, economics and many more. All
these skills is required by me to achieve success in future studies and professional career. I

developed these skills by giving full focus and dedication with discipline during classes of IT
and computer. Then teachers gave assessments to whole class by making various team. I
developed by communication skill by interacting with other team member, by reading goods,
practising with friends and family member in order to understand and connect with their ideas.
By listing and understanding other members point of view and cooperate with them I developed
team work skills which helped me to solve problems in team and complete the project on time
(Cocuľová, 2020).
Then examine three key skills that developed during the learning
Teamwork skills- It refers to range of capabilities of an individual which helps them to
corporate and coordinate with others in different projects, meeting and situation in a well
organised way as well as with empathy. While learning and attending the process of learning in
class in order to improve study skills for future development. During the process of learning and
development I developed this skills while working on project in a team. As I developed this
skills in me to listening ideas, information and message of other members while working on a
project during academic life (Cottrell, 2020).
IT skills- This skills is termed as information technology skills which is related to the
working on computer system like software skills, coding, machine learning, cloud computing,
data analysis, websites, application and many more. During the time of learning process I
developed this skills by participating into various training programme, live sessions on seminars,
attending workshops and many more. As this skills further helps me to conduct my practices in
technical field effectively. I developed IT skills by practising continuously on computer system
as well as working of various project (Dal Mas and Barac, 2018).
Communication skills– This skills has been determined as ability and talent of people to
communicative and convey their message effectively to others. This skills enables me to pass
information by various mode of communication as well as to understand what other said to us .it
refers to the act of conveying information and message from one person or place to another.
While participating in my learning process I developed my capabilities to speak properly and
convey my ideas, thoughts, prospectus and massage to other people in my academy, personal life
by maintaining eye contact with full confidence. It will allow me to interact socially or better
with teacher, class fellow and other people in professional career. There are various mode of

written and verbal communication such email, phone calls, voice message, video calls, letter and
many more which I can use during team work, group project (Haqaf. and Koyuncu, 2018).
Gibbs reflective cycle -
Gibbs reflective cycle refers to the most popular model of reflective learning that was
introduced in 1988 by Graham Gibbs. It provides a proper structure to learning form experiences
and education which can be analysed by mistakes which will be improved by a learner in their
higher studies and professional career. It assists me to developed study skills as well as
knowledge during learning process. There are 6 steps in this model which enables me in
reflecting my current skills, knowledge, experiences as well as mistakes during process and
course. It is a process of self reflection of mine in my skill development process at academy. By
utilising Gibbs reflective cycle theory the personal experience of mine during the process of skill
development which are reflecting underneath (Harris and Kelly 2019).
Description- In the academy, I attend a development and learning course with my
friends to learn more about various subjects and skills which I will use in higher studies as well
as professional career, there are many learners in a group who belong form separate cultures,
places, backgrounds to developed study skills in order to become successful and achieve their
goals. The teachers who gave training on various subjects such as computer system , coding,
economic, business environment, maths and so on. I went to institution to gain and explore
multiple skills like communication skills, time management skills, technical skills and many
more to achieve growth and success in higher studies. The teachers and other students of the
group put efforts to make the friendly environment in class, so every learners get comfortable
and give more focus on their development process.
Feelings- During the development process, I was low and quite nervous due to different
nature and mindset of people of the group. Also, I faced various difficulties to know the nature of
other members and understand courses for which I enrolled in that institution. During the mid of
process, I experienced and noticed various changes in my mid set, abilities and personality which
enabled me to increased my motivation and dedication in class. It helped me to understand and
interact with people better during the working on project assigned by teacher. I also learned and
developed good communication skills, IT skills, teamwork skills and many more (Kooli, 2019).
Evaluation- There are many skills which I am weak at during development process as
well as various skills and knowledge which I needed to developed for that I enrolled in learning

process at institution. All these skills helped me to complete my course effectively. Also these
skills will help me to conduct effective working in higher studies and professional career in order
to get better result. These skills are communication skills, time management skills, and other
which is very essential for me to solve various issues, problems and correct mistakes to reduce
extra time consumed on these activities. It also helped me to connect and coordinate better with
others group members in to complete team work and create unity among group to meet common
goal. It provide guidance and direction to my action and behaviours during development process
regarding project, learning of various topics and connecting with teacher and people (Lin and
Hazelbaker, 2019).
Analysis- I attend the process of learning related various courses and subjects in school,
but I am scared, nervous and demotivated which generate anxiety in me to complete whole
process effectively. But to overcome from this I gave more efforts and did my project by
breaking task into many steps for clear understanding. I also got to understand about the
advantages of effective communication in a group to achieve the aim of task. Further, I also did
research on many topic to learn and acquire knowledge which allowed me to gain higher grads
and good marks. In last week of development process, teachers gave us guidelines and notes on
various topics as well as taught us who will we use skills, notes, knowledge for improvement and
grab opportunities for future successful career (Maloni, Hiatt and Campbell, 2019).
Conclusion- It has been concluded that, personal development process, self evaluation
and reflective learning is most important process to analyse about current skills, knowledge and
area for improvement for future growth. My attitude, behaviour and perception has been
transformed which allowed me to tackle various problems and issues during learning and further
without any trouble. There are many skills which I developed like technical skills, IT skills,
communication skills to perform my task in project with full dedication and focus. Now I will
more confident and capable to handle complex situations efficiently regarding higher studies and
job. In the starting I found difficulties but further I enjoyed as well as connected more with
process and people addition to developed skills to deal with nature of people and various typical
situation related to work in future (Roussy, and Perron, 2018).
Action plan- During the process of learning study skills, I found difficulties due to lack
of knowledge and skills which creates problems for me to adjust and adopt the environment of
institution. But to improve communication skills, IT skills and team work skill I develop action

plan and proper schedule to achieve the better result on time. By participating in online training
session I can developed by IT skills and practising continuously on that with in 4 months. By
working on my vocabulary, confidence to convey massage and practising with friends I can
develop my communication skills with in 3 months. Through working on project by listening and
knowing the nature of team members as well as interacting informal with them I can develop
team work skills in 2 month.

Personal development research and planning

There are various skills such as time management, problem solving skills,
communication skills, team work skills, IT skills and analytical skills which is essential for
students to develop in order to achieve success and get better job opportunities. To conduct
research about various topics like business, technology, politics and many more it is essential for
me to develop these skills with in short period of time during participating in classes in academy.
The development opportunities are language development, communication development, literacy
development which will helps me to improve confidence while giving presentation in classroom
and many other places. I developed my confidence by practising continuously on presentation
every day in a weekend in order to maintain eye contact while giving actual presentation in order
to get opportunities. Development opportunities allows me to learn and develop new skills as
well as doing activities which I may not done before. It helps me to increase my flexibility,
adaptability and patience level in order to attain success (Tajiri and Gotoh, 2020).

There are various opportunities which I can grab while developing skills during my
academic life to become success in professional career. These opportunities helps me in
increasing my confidence level, discipline, communication and problem solving skills. By
utilising various opportunities in classroom like take initiative to lead the project, participating in
group discussion, attending extra classes, workshop, educational tour and many more. By taking

participation in debate competitions, presentation, speech and many more I will develop my
confidence level to maintain eye contract during all these activities to grab the attention of
people towards me and my work. In order to improve my skills, knowledge and reduce my
weaknesses or mistakes l am intended to pursue to take participation in volunteering and
