INTRODUCTION
Skill audit refers to process of assessing skills of person through questionnaire and then
determining the potential knowledge gaps that might impact long term plans of an organization
or individual growth. It is key piece of information to know is what knowledge and skills people
have. Personal development planning is process of developing action plan that is based on values
awareness, goal setting and also planning for the personal development with context of
education, career and self improvement. There is a group exercise that included participating as
area in fundraising for Brain Tumor Charity that supports the children, families and young
people affected through brain tumor diagnosis. There will be discussion about the key study and
the employment skills for the business students. Determine the improvement areas and
investigate ways under which improvement area can be addressed in a detailed manner.
TASK
Identify and examine key study and employment skills for business students, referring to suitable
sources
The business student is an individual that obtained university degree in Business
Administration. The students graduating such degree mainly began career in business. The
students may get the business degrees at undergraduate and graduate. Employment skills refer to
transferrable skills which are required through a person to make employable. There is a need to
business students to have the technological knowledge or understanding, subject knowledge. The
skills, knowledge and the attitudes that help to get people work and move among jobs can be
described as employability (Assiter, A. ed., 2017). The 'information' element and skills of the job
can be the most measurable and most focused. In order to collect the fund for Brain Tumour
Charity, it is necessary to have some skills. There are some employment skills given below:
Team work skill- Teamwork is the willingness to work together with others through
discussions, tasks, meetings or other partnerships. The ability to communicate well, to listen
effectively, to be respectful and truthful depends on the team skills. It is important for strong
teamwork skills to be able to interact effectively and efficiently. It is crucial that volunteers
exchange specific ideas, ideas and valuable details while interacting with others.
Communication- It is the main skill that needs to have to all the volunteers which are
working for collecting the funds for the brain tumor patients. Under this, there is a need to
volunteers to speak clearly as well as directly to the people from which getting the funds. It is

necessary to share the information about the brain tumor Charity so that last number of people
can aware about it and give their contribution.
Problem solving- This is one of the effective skills that help in solving the issue at
workplace. It is helpful in solving the issues arising time of conducting the activities and task.
There is a need to show the Independence as well as initiative in determining the issues and also
solving them (Culpin and Scott, 2012). It is necessary for the volunteers and young people to
develop the practical solutions so that the issues can be resolved it is necessary for the volunteers

Research planning skill- Research planning is an applied skill that uses empirical data to
establish and analyze plans or planning investigations. Access to multiple data sets and
coordination of research projects around a mixed methodology research approach is standard
practice in the research planning. In context to collect funds for people suffered from Tumuor,
there is a need to volunteer to research about the place from where they can collect the funds can
help the tumor people by using the Facebook group so that can recover rapidly.
Self-evaluate and reflect upon your individual development
It is necessary to conduct the self evaluation and reflect on the individual development. In
context to this, SWOT analysis need to be conducted. The SWOT analysis is mainly used for
determine the strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats. The personal SWOT analysis can
do similar to a person in pursuit of career objectives. This offers insights into strengths and
weaknesses of a person, the obstacles face and the possibilities have in the future.

In terms of my strength, I have a good
skill of performing a task individually as
well in a group. Moreover, I have good
communication skills and according to the
situation I use both verbal and written
form to communicate with the other
person.
Developing a proper plan in order to
accomplish the goals and objective is my
prime strength.
I have a terrible in doing things that are
related to some mechanism (Dowling,,
2014).
Although, I am good in communication
skills but when it comes to speaking to a
large number of people than I feel
uncomfortable.
In some context, because of my over
analyzing skill I spent a lot of time in
order to make sure that it is done

to focus on determine the areas with needs to be improved that help in conducting the activities
as well as managing business functions in an effective manner. In this, the main focus is on
collect the funds for people who are under 18 and suffering from Brain Tumour. There are some
of the improvements areas mention below:
Team building and team management- The ability to pick and maintain an effective
team also starts with achieving a business goal. An individual will delegate tasks and inspire
employees to make your employees work at optimal levels by selecting the right team. The great
a person are at team management as well as team building, the more it can work together as a
mutually supportive unit for common cause.

Time management- Time management is important for the success of company. Without it,
there will be few activities completed on time. For those involved, this could be catastrophic.
The best way is to use preparation tools like Sling in daily routine (Durodolu, 2016). Not only
does Sling help schedule when workers work, it also includes a cloud-based, custom-based, time-
consuming resources list that will keep at work.
Corporation- Teamwork consists of working together to develop something better than
one would be able, on their own, for a group of people with various skills and talents. Working
with the other colleagues is important to exchange ideas, develop each other's work and assist
each other in creating a strong team. If the volunteers will not act on their own, they will have to
collaborate with others at some point. There is a need to work in a coordinative manner to all the
volunteers so that they can able to collect the funds for the Brain Tumour patients.
Research relevant
Every research is conducted for a purpose. This research has been conducted to evaluate
and analyses the skills and personality which is been possess by an individual. Every research
which is been conducted has an aim and objective with it. The aim and objective of this
investigation to perform an inspection of oneself. The relevance of this report is as follows:
To introspect: Analyzing oneself and knowing about his or her strengths and weakness is a
major thing to perform. Through inspection an individual would get to about the areas in which
he is very good at and also the area in which is not so good at (Grant, 2017). When an individual
gets to know about his strengths he would use it for his work so that he can present and perform
his work with efficiency and effectively. For example I believe that my marketing skills are very
good as I am able to communicate my message very well to the other person for which the
customers also gets attract towards him. This marketing factor is very well good for the
individual and also for an organization in which he has given the task for handling the sales and
performing marketing for the organization. By knowing about a person weakness, he would get
to know the areas in which he lacks behind and these areas are very much necessary for in build
in him. They say no body is born perfect and the skills are developed better when an individual
knows about his weakness and work hard upon them to cover it up. For example I personally
believe that I lacks behind in the communication skills, for building up a good communication
(with includes both written and oral communication), I have to worked very much hard. I tried to
read a lots of books which helped me in developing words that I can use while delivering my
message to other people. It also has helped me in drafting the written communication in which I
learned about the right and proper method to use while drafting a written message (Harden and
Laidlaw, 2016). As the report is been conducted in skills audit and personal development skills, I
have to analyze and research about all my skills which would be necessary for me to build up.
The skills and knowledge that I have and need to posses should matches with the skills which
would be needing to pursue my future goal and objective. Any individual who develops the

skills, he developed it by seeing the requirements of his personal and professional goal. For
example to become a good market research and data analytics I have to build up the skills like
interpretation of data, collecting and gathering the primary and secondary data, organizing the
information or data in a right way, methods and theories which is related with the market
research and the methods about how to analyze the data (Harrison, 2012). All the above stated
are the core skills which is very much necessary for a person to build up for pursuing his forte
and career. Secondary skills may include good communication skills, good presentation skills,
leadership quality, motivational skill and the so on are the skills which are also necessary for a
person to build in him.
To act: Here the “ act” refers to the skills or knowledge into the area in which a person lacks
behind or needs improvement.. When a person introspect himself, while performing this act he
comes up with many skills and factors in which he lacks behind or needs improvement. Through
this activity he would get to know about how he can surmount these factors in which he lacks
behind. For example while introspecting; I got to know that I lack in my communication skills, to
overcome this problem I took the steps and adopt the activities which would have helped in
developing this skill in me. By performing this, a person also gets to know about the
opportunities and threats which a person can have (Holm and Zaman, 2012). Opportunities are
the positive factors for a person which would helped him for his development and growth. For
example there is a sharp increase into the growth for the jobs of data analytics into the economy,
so this works as an opportunity for him which he can grab. And when a person is pro in this field
he will also gets promotions very often. Whereas threats are the risk for a person, here threats
refer to the change into the demand in economy, change into technology, recessions,
unemployment which does not goes parallel with the planned things.
To achieve the goal: This self audit or evaluation activity helps the person in the achievement of
his goal. When a person audit his skills he gets to know about the area in which he has gained
command or the areas in which he has to gain command. All this activities helped him in
achieving the goals and objectives in he has planned or his career. These factors or skills will
enable a person and helped him in his path which would lead him toward his ultimate goal.
Stipulate how you will develop your skills through extra curricular activities
Various activities which can help in developing the skills which would lead into the
attainment of objectives are as follows:
Role play: Role play is an activity in which a person is given a role which he has to perform in
the same manner which is been demanded by the role (Lindsay and et. al., 2012).The role play
will educate the person in how he can change his personality and command according to the
situation demanded and the role which you are playing. As a manager there are several roles and
personality which he needs to exercise in his job, for example sometime he has to behave like a
friend so that his team members would feel free to talk to him, sometime he has to be a mentor
so that he can coach and show the right direction to his member and educate him about his work,

sometime he needs to play a role in which he has to threat his members about stating the
circumstances his members needs to face if the work is not been completed. So a person needs to
bring up different personality and behavior according to the situation he encounters. Therefore
role play is an extra curricular activity in which a person is given with any kind of role and he
needs to enact like him. This activity is very fun and enables a person to develop such
personality within him.
Readings and practice: The reading practice helps a person into the development of
communication and vocabulary. Reading is a fun activity. Reading helps a person grabbing the
knowledge and skills which a person was unknown earlier. There are many kinds of reading
genre which a person can choose according to his choice and taste (Muir and et. al., 2013).
Reading would give a person more new words which can help him into the development of his
own vocabulary. A person can also read about motivational stories which would help him in
motivating him and his work force. There are also many books and management which are
autobiography of the great managerial people, through this he can grab more knowledge about
managerial skills and management. These reading can enable a person in bring creative and
innovative with the methods and theories which he has been applied yet with his work force.
Being social: It is an extra curricular activity which helps a person in becoming social to other
people. there are many people who have the right knowledge and caliber to become successful,
but they are quite introvert person who hesitate to communicate to any person. Becoming social
can help him to talk to other people so that he can develop a right communication skills and
behavior towards the people while communicating with them (Öhman and Wallersted,
2012).Becoming social would helped him in presenting his ideas and opinions freely in the
meeting which would ultimately helped the organization as there will be more and more people
with ideas and opinions. These ideas would help the organization in developing new strategies
and tactics in performing the work.
CONCLUSION
It has been concluded from the above mention report that to collect the funds from the
people by volunteers and young people, there has been some skills identified such as team
teamwork, problem solving and communication. For self-evaluate and individual development,
there has been SWOT analysis conducted. There has been discussed about some skills such as
team building, time management and corporation needs to determined that needs to be
development by using some of the effective ways. The report also includes the SWOT analysis in
which a person can evaluate his strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats. This is an internal
analysis from evaluating the above, he would know about the areas in which he can explore and
have the right attitude and qualities, along with it the weakness includes the areas in which he

needs to put his more efforts to overcome them. Apart from this there are many extra curricular
activities which can helps a person in developing the skills in which he lacks behind for example,
he can adopt role play, reading activity, becoming social are some activities through which he
can surmounts his weaknesses.
