INTRODUCTION
Skills and competencies are the abilities of individuals which support them in perming
the roles and responsibilities in effective and efficient manner through which they can shape their
personal and professional self. This refection report will be discussing about the learning
experience that gas been gained during the week. The learning that has been gained will be
presented where the strategies for overcoming shortcomings will be listed. This will be helpful in
shaping the career and will outline strengths, weakness and career readiness with the help of
SWOT framework. The project will be defining the interactions with international students who
belonged to Pakistan, China and Korea.
MAIN BODY
As form the experience that has been gained throughout the module, it can be stated that
there are various skills and competencies that are required while working as an HR executive. A
variety of soft and hard skills play a crucial role which support individuals in meeting the roles
and responsibilities and requirements of the job role. The experience that as been gained through
this modules has been highly valuable and this is responsible for or myself in gaining insight to
the technical knowledge, individual strengths and weakness were evaluated. By considering my
own skills, there are various opportunities that can be attracted in the domain of human resource
and management. My role as HR executive was to engage in managerial activities and focus on
my responsibilities that must be met in the company. While working as HR executive, this
supported in gathering more information and supported in developing competencies through
which I will be focusing on accomplishing corporate goals.
I evaluated that there are number of skills and competencies that are valuable for
individuals through which duties can be met. From this learning experience, this supported in
evaluating the strengths where communication skills, leadership skills, time management skills
acted as strengths. Communication skill acted as strength where I was able to share my opinions
and also engage in active listening through which all required information can be shared. Such
skills supported in creating strong interpersonal relationship through which assigned job roles
and responsibilities can be met. From the module, this offered opportunity to determine the
shortcomings which has been acting as inabilities for meeting the roles and responsibilities as an
individual in the organization. From the above approach, the weaknesses which have been

responsible for creating barriers in meeting the performance standards and in meeting the
responsibilities, are- lack of team working skills, poor technological knowledge and poor self
management. Due to lack of technical skills, this has been highly responsible for limiting my
abilities to perform assigned task in companies and this lead to higher frustration and lack of
interest in the company.
Employability skill are essential to be developed as these help in shaping the person
through which an individual can effectively perform all managerial activities and meet the
responsibilities. However, some of the shortcomings has been identified which are hampering the
performance and also leads to poor career growth and development. In order to improve team
working skills, I will be focusing on manage time effectively, exercise together, interact with
positive mindset, clarify the targets, establish team roles and responsibility, build team roes and
responsibilities (Akdere and Hickman, 2018). Such strategies will be helpful in developing the
skill through which team performance can be effectively managed. In order to improve the
technical skills, I will be engaging in online learning and through by enrolling in classes which
will be helpful for me to develop my skills and competencies.
I will also focus on enhancing the technical skills by leaning through online classes and
through gathering more information from the books, articles and online channels. Due to poor
self management, this has been responsible for hampering the performance and creating
inabilities to meet the task requirements (Chen, Chen and Pai, 2019). In order to improve self-
management skills, I focused on planning out all activities, prioritizing health and well being,
determine own strengths, develop organizational system, and by creating short, medium and long
term goals.
CONCLUSION
For the above information, it can be evaluated that skills and competencies are essential
in performing the roles and responsibilities of the company through which corporate goals can be
met in most effective and efficient manner. The skills and competencies support companies in
meeting the performance standards and in meeting the roles and responsibilities of the
organization. The technical skills are highly valuable through which an individual can perform
effectively and meet the assigned job roles and responsibilities.
