The job market is currently so much competitive just because there are so many candidates.
Every company seeks a powerful candidate who has experience in the field related to the
company. Along with this, each company seeks skills in a candidate. If a student has a good
result in university, then he has been taken as a strong candidate. Nowadays students are judged
based on their cv (Choren, 2015). CV means a paper that includes personal information,
education qualifications, skills, and experiences about a student. Employers seek the success of a
student in his university as well as the cv. So, a student must have to focus on his CV as well as
his education in the university. To be successful in university a student requires skills. This
report is about the skills needed to be successful.

To be successful in the university means getting a good result in the exam and different tests.
Students need to be successful in the university to get a good job and it also helps the students to
be better candidates in the job sector. Students need some skills to be successful at the university
(Darlynie and Sapiri, 2020). These skills help a person in the job sector also. OS these skills are not
only important as a student but also as an employee. The skills are given below:
 Time management: Time management is a must-skill for every student. It helps a
student to manage time and do several tasks. The technique for masterminding and
planning how to distribute time between explicit assignments is known as "time the
board." An individual with appropriate time the executives will work more efficiently. So
that even though time is short and stresses are high, an individual can complete
considerably more things quicker. Time management helps a student to be more effective
and efficient in his activities (Epstein, 2016). The core thing of time management is
setting priorities. Time management comes when there is a lot of activities. So, students
have to set priorities and goals so that they can manage time and work properly and
efficiently. Time management is important for a student because a student has to
complete so many tasks. Time management helps a student to complete more tasks in a
short time. Before the exam, students have to read a big syllabus and that is why they can
set priority like they can fix which topics are important and fix a time for those and fix
the rest of the time for other topics. That is how time management works.
 Stress management: Stress management means the management of the nerve. That
means it helps to prevent nervousness. It is the second important every person needs to be
effective and efficient. It is a must thing for a student also. Similar to time management,
stress management is also needed as a student and as an employee. In the exam hall and
before the exam, students are getting nervous because they cannot take the stress. It is a
barrier to be efficient and effective. Whenever left untreated, pressure in college
understudies may cause uneasiness and gloom (Evan, 2015). Evaluations may endure
because of these conditions, and organizations might be lost. Receiving pressure, the
boarding routine will help with forestalling and easing these issues.

 Well Developed self-care skill: Create sleep time schedules that are centered around
your actual requirements and prosperity. A decent night's rest and a reasonable eating
routine will assist with temperament, athletic and scholastic achievement, and stress the

legitimate prepping (Evans and Kersh, 2015). To be successful a student needs to stay
alive. That means a student needs to take care of his own at first. It means self-care. If he

 Staying safe and avoiding risky behavior: keeping yourself safe means avoiding risky
activities. As an example, it can be said that students should not keep their syllabus
incomplete before the exam. They should complete their syllabus before the exam. If they
put their tasks before the exam, they can not avoid risky behavior.
 Asking for assistance in time of need: A student must have to ask his classmates or
teacher when he is in a problem about a topic. It will help the student to be clear about a
topic. As an example, when a student is unable to understand a lecture in the classroom,
he must have to ask his teacher to make the topic understood. It will help to make a good
result in the exam.
 Being focused: every student needs to set some goal. Setting goal is not everything for a
student. He has to be focused on the goal and he has to try the level best to fulfill it.
Being focused can help a student to be successful also.
The importance of these six skills in the workplace
These six skills mentioned above are not only helpful for a student but also helpful for an
employee in his workplace. These skills are also important in the workplace to succeed as an
employee. Firstly, time management helps an employee to be efficient. An employee has to do
several tasks in the office (Kovacs, 2021). If he can manage his time properly and he can
complete all of his tasks efficiently which will make a good impression of the employee to the
employer. Secondly, Stress management helps an employee to manage his time. If any employee
gets nervous, it will be hard for him to manage the time properly and get every task done. So, an
employee needs to manage the stress. Thirdly, self-care is needed to be fit for the work by an
employee. Sound health also helps o keep the mind fit which helps an employee to do everything
properly and efficiently. Fourthly, Risky behavior must be avoided by an employee. Risk means

uncertainty. As an example, if an employer provides a task to his employee for tomorrow. If the
employee puts the work for tomorrow morning, he maybe rises the risk which leads to
uncertainty. So, employees must have to reduce risk-taking tendency. Fifthly, asking for
assistance in job life helps an employee to be clear about the tasks he has to do. It helps an
employee to be effective as he is clear about the task. And the last one is being focused on. It
also helps an employee to reach the goal (peck, 2019). So, from the discussion, it can be said that

 Write in student newspaper: Journalism is a good career. So, students who want to
build their careers in journalism can work in the student newspapers on the campus. It
will help a student to have an advantage in the competitive job sector (Shafie, Majid, and
Damio, 2020). It will give the student experiences. In today’s job sector, experience is a
must thing. As a journalist, a student can gather so many skills rather than other job
seekers. It is also helpful for those who are not trying to build their career in journalism.
Writing in a student newspaper turns a student very resourceful. It also makes them
experienced in research.
 Participation in voluntary work: Through voluntary work, a student can upgrade his cv
also. Voluntary work is not only helping a student to gather experiences but also enrich
the cv. Students can join in different kinds of voluntary activities and can add to the cv. It
creates a good impression about the candidate in employers’ minds (Sutherland, 2017).
Maybe voluntary work can be unrelated to the dream job of a student, but it can help the
employer to get an idea about the student and candidate that the candidate cares about
