INTRODUCTION
Reflective learning is a process that student uses to reflect their learning experience. This
approach changes conceptual perspective of students. It enables student to accept responsibility
of learning for the purpose of self growth and clarifies their motive and internal thinking process.
Driscoll model is a framework that is developed with the motive of guiding reflective learning
(Corbo, 2019).
MAIN BODY
With the intention of knowledge enhancement and analysis of my learning activities, I
utilised Driscoll model of reflection as a student for developing effective learning while
undertaking several project activities. This model was developed by Terry Borton in 1970. It
contains three stems or steps which are further described below:
Step 1: What?
While studying week 1 to 7, the first lecture was of reading skills. Here, I analysed
various tactics that should be applied for increasing reading speed and effectiveness. In the next
lecture, that was in week 2, I got to know about digital skills which involves optimum utilization
of social media marketing, search engine optimization, content marketing etc. On the third week,
time management was introduced in class. Importance of time management, how its should be
utilised in day to day affairs as well as its advantages were showcased (Hall, and Jones, 2018).
Learning style was the topic of discussion in 4th week. Learning style are of various types, such
as, visual, auditory and kinaesthetic. Descriptive analysis of these style were done. Effectiveness
and requirement of team work was explained in 5th week. I got the opportunity to explore vital
skill of communication in 6th week along with its various models and applications. In the 6th
week, focus was on enhancement of presentation skill which a requirement to withstand in
corporate world.
Step 2: So what?
On my learning phase during sessions, I felt glad that I participated in classes. It helped
me to a great extend for incorporating essential skills in me which is a necessity in today's world.
It is essential to communicate properly and maintain a positive body language if we want that
importance is provided to our ideas and perspective. Learning skills provide a great help to me in
enhancing my knowledge. Along with it, communication skills boosted my confidence which

will further help me in future employments. Digital skills is important to align with this
constantly transforming technological era. It assisted me in adapting new technologies and
enhanced my device handling information. It provided me knowledge of image editing,
Microsoft office, coding, digital marketing etc. which will further provide me advantage in job
interviews. Presentation skill empowers me to bring forth my ideas in professional way which
provides importance to my approach. Team work is essential working effective completion of
any task. If a person is not capable of working in team he/she cannot survive in corporate world.
Hence, learning of teamwork is of great help for me. In addition to it, time management and
reading skills further improves my competencies, and it also enables me to manage time properly
so that I can focus more on improving my creativity and achieve goals faster (Taylor, 2019).
Step 3: Now What?
During the lectures I analysed that my communication skills is weak. I got so nervous
during assignment of communication lecture that I was not able to speak at all. At that time my
team help me a lot. They became my support system and encouraged me and gave me
confidence to speak in front of people. During that phase I understood the importance of team
work. I got to know that we can create synergy while working in teams, it indicates that expertise
can be further enhanced and weaknesses of individual can be improvised. And after that I
practice regularly for public speaking so that I can gain confidence. Even my digital skills are
also not up to the mark. I face problems while learning digital concepts and technologies. Hence,
I started devoting more time on practising what I learned in classes. It improvised my digital
expertise.
CONCLUSION
With the help of above discussion it can be analysed that, Driscoll model of reflection
plays a crucial role in improvising student's learning experience. It enables them to identify what
identify skills learned by them. It further enabled me to evaluate my strengths and weaknesses.
That indicates students can identify their core competency areas are further enhance that factors
to improve their expertise. Along with it, it helped me to evaluate my weak points so that I can
focus more on weak factors and improvise it.
