A SWOT analysis involves identifying:
 Your strengths
 Your areas for developments (weaknesses)
 Opportunities to address areas for development
 Threats that could stop you addressing areas for development
This exercise involves identifying the skills you will need to be a successful student along with
opportunities and threats that could impact your skill development. Once you have identified
these areas you will be able to complete an academic skills SWOT analysis.

 Proofreading: It is one of the skills which is required by me in
order to successful student. It is an essential skill that assists
students to read what they have written. On this basis, the
individual is able to identify whether they have written the things in
the same context that they are intended. In order to be a
successful student, individual needs to complete different
assignments, give exams and for all these things individuals
require proofreading skills.
 Note making: It is another skill that is required by me for purpose
of becoming an effective student. It allows an individual for purpose
of write things in short which can be easily remembered by them.
There are various pieces of information which cannot be learn by a
person at one time and in order to learn specific information,
individual needs to develop these skills.

Researching: It is one of opportunity for a person as on basis of their skills,
students are able to conduct various research in their academic and professional life.
It allows them to gather the right information for the purpose of coming up at the right
decision.
Developing good employment opportunities: On basis of skills, a person can
develop good employment opportunity for business. It assist them to get job
opportunity in business which provide them higher pay scale and also provide charce
to learn new things.

What are other threats?
Increasing competition: There is an increasing threat in the marketplace as there
are a limited number of jobs available whereas the number of employees is available
for the job. It creates a threat for people as it results in fewer options for a person.
Increasing expectation: Due to increasing globalisation and avalaiblity of skilled
employes, expectation of employers also increased. It will create threat for me as
they want all type of skills in an individual in order to offer the reputed job.

What are your top 3 skill development priorities?
Team working is one of the important skills which consider as a priority for me. It allows me
for purpose of ensuring collaboration among team members in order to work towards
common goals. I will develop this during my academic life as there are different group
assignment offered by teachers to be and in order to compete it, I ensure the collaboration of
other members.
Another skill to be developed by me is verbal communication. It is one of the important skills
which is required by an individual. In order to develop this skill, I take participation in
presentation, group discussions, debates and other activities which allow me to develop the
skill. It is also required by me in my academic and professional life.
Another skill required by me is people management. I want to develop my career in
human resource management and in order to develop a career in that field, it is
important for me to develop these skills. For developing these skills, I have created
different group assignments where I manage all people to a different task. I also take
participation in the management of different activities to be organised at the
academic institution.
