INTRODUCTION
Skills are the ability as well capability which is acquired by deliberate, systematic and
sustained efforts. For carrying out complex activities in easy and smooth way these can be
related to interpersonal, technical and cognitive skills. Now a days environment is becoming
more competitive thus, for sustain in the world which is full of competition there is requirement
of several skills (Fleming, Fairweather and Leahy, 2013). It is well known that working
experience provide support to improve capabilities and knowledge which is essential for
attaining success. Below mention assignment is based on skills of an individual which is
enhanced through giving group presentations i.e., Team work and communication skills.
Description of these ability are given as well Honey and Mumford is also mention which is
model of learning style.

Environment is much competitive now a days for sustaining in this there is requirement
of several capabilities or ability. So that me as a student can have better career and future as well
Skills are the ability of individual which can get improve through several activities one of them
is presentation. I am giving effective presentation in a team which need teamwork skills. In my
school days I usually give presentation as individually because of this I am not good in acquiring
things rapidly. Moreover, their wide difference in level of research at school and college level, in
graduation level there is requirement of more and more research for giving presentation in better
manner with full of knowledge (Gilson, Carter and Biggs, 2017). Deep investigation of the topic
is necessary so that at the time of question me and my group can answer these. Apart from this,
effective communication is important by this I can easily interact with others in easy manner.
These are the major three skills which is required in me for giving presentation.
Although, by presenting the topic teenagers canner with group above mention three skills
get enhanced i.e., teamwork, communication and research. They are not required to present
something but also help in grabbing better future or career opportunities. I have enhanced my
team work skills with developing relation with other staff members in better way along with
putting more efforts to prepare the presentations about teenagers cancer. It also provide help to
make gain effective knowledge about issues or problems faced by teenage people who are

suffering from any type of cancer. I come to know about several side effects of chemotherapies
in patients which may reduce morale of them at very low level. It is required for me is to
influence the communication skill which help in interacting with others and deal with them in
better manner.
I have learned many things about teenager cancer patients while searching for content
and making presentation. It includes the criteria of making people morally strong to undergo
treatment for cancer which should be done by an effective counselling by specialists. I have
improve my way of talking in positive manner while performing my tasks in team and focus on
outcomes of whole group rather than individual benefits. In context of research ability, my skills
and knowledge to conduct any research activity by analysing actual issues and facts to find out
better result.

My task to collect various details about teenager cancer along with problems in daily life
and issues generated by side effects of chemotherapies. I have learned about various negative
effect which creates harmful impacts on body of an individual and due to which they are unable
to carried out regular routine work in conformable manner. As per the usage of research skill, I
can easily collect and gather regarding teenager cancer. Some of cells get damaged during this
method of diagnosis like blood-forming cells in the bone marrow, hair follicles, cells in the
mouth, digestive tract and reproductive system along with different side effects that are given
below:
Fatigue
Hair loss
Easy bruising and bleeding
Infection
Anaemia (low red blood cell counts)
Nausea and vomiting
Appetite changes
Constipation
Diarrhoea
Mouth, tongue, and throat problems such as sores and pain with swallowing
Nerve and muscle problems such as numbness, tingling, and pain

I have also come know that treatment of cancer is complex procedure in which medical
care providers are required to maintain high quality, improved communication, better
coordination and accurate decision making. In context of our presentation, it is necessary to to
have knowledge of several point relevant to teenager cancer so that our team can answer to
viewers appropriately. I have collected certain working experience that provide support to
improve capabilities and knowledge which is essential for attaining necessary knowledge about
cancer which faced by patients in teenage to make more effective as well as efficient power point
presentation. Thus, my contribution involves to provide detailed knowledge about cancer
patients to teenage and issues faced by them along with effective procedures to make
comfortable life for such people (Yin, 2011).

After carrying out research about teenager cancer, I have come to know about necessity
of making people aware about various critical health issues the reason behind phrase –
precautions are better than curation. After gathering information for cancer treatment procedure
and their side effects, I started believing an idea of taking precautions in regular life by
conducing several healthy activities prescribed be medical specialist. It is also observed and
analysed by me that treatment of cancer is easily conducted with better outcomes at its first stage
but after levels make more critical medical condition of an individual.
Apart from gaining a little knowledge about medical field which may help in real life
challenges regarding health which facilitates to improve my skills. It includes my
communication abilities as I have practised many times before conducting presentation among
audiences which provide support to increase my confidence level also. Thus, it is necessary to
work with team in a proper manner by establishing better coordination as well as cooperation to
complete whole task appropriately along with attaining desired outcomes. Hence, I have learned

to perform in group without creating any issue or conflicts with other member as well as sort out
such problems immediately to avoid negative impacts on particular procedure of target.
Previously, I used to work alone and focus on an individual targets to complete it proper way but
this presentation of team work render support to me for performing in group along with required
coordination. It is also analysed that team work spirit is necessarily generated amongst several
members which facilitates to carrying out specific tasks by putting efforts in correct direction for
creating desired results.
Reflect in the team project process using a cycle/model of reflection to support your discussions
Honey and Mumford is the learning style model which is developed by Peter Honey and
Alan Mumford in 1986. This theory is categorised into four learning groups and these 4 are
supposed to be reflective of natural approaches of children for receiving knowledge (Nally,
Lockwood and Ho, 2011). To assist with determination the correct learning style or preference,
Honey and Mumford have developed a questionnaire built on a continuum shown in the figure
below. This learning style aids individual person in taking smarter decisions which adjusting the
learning opportunities, preferences of best learning, develop the range and variety of experiences
which are potential learning opportunities, enhance learning capabilities and awareness. When I
implement this model while learning several skills related to presentation such as research,
teamwork and communication I will lean there is more better manner along with my group.

Theorists : Learners who comes under this category are theorists in nature they try to
understand theory behind their every action. With the help of this learning style, I learned
several facts which are related to teenager cancer in which I have to give a presentation.
This enhance research skills and also assist me in learning various new things. Their
selection of learning activities involves models, statistics, stories, quotes, background
information, implementing concepts theoretically and so on. As per my experience, I can
easily read all the books and journals which help me in getting information and knowledge.

abilities by which they can implement their learning in practical life on regular basis in

standards of performance and gain perfection in work which is essential while working
for patients. I have learned many things from this event by gaining several conceptual
ideas which improve my knowledge and enhance efficiencies. As per my experience, I
can now be able to present myself in a confident manner and have acquired additional
communication skills.
Reflectors : This group of individuals involves such people who thoroughly observe and
contemplation all activities happening everywhere and grab few of them which are
beneficial. I have gather information and analyse several opportunities to perform
towards for achieving growth. Such people prefer various events such as paired
discussions, self- analysis questionnaires, personality development, time out, observing
activities, feedback from others, coaching, interviews etc. According to the experience, I
can collect all essential data and information for achieving growth.

problem of cancer in teenagers. Many of changes are analysed by me in my skills and knowledge
which have enhanced but it is also mandatory to take view points of other people. I have
collected feedbacks from my peers, friends or seniors about my performance including skills as
well. The qualitative and quantitative evidence of above reflection is given below:
Qualitative evidence: This can be described as a kind of data collection which should be
done in non -statistical manner that may includes focus groups, interviews, observations and so
on (Derwing and Munro, 2013). It includes about to analyse my set targets of presentation and

them latch with actual outcomes to evaluate threats or issues in my skills. For example, my goal
is to make people aware about early symptoms of cancer and ways to minimise risks of the same.
Furthermore, I have participated in several debates or group discussions through presenting my
views in in an accurate manner with better confidence levels and superiors also appreciate me for
my enhanced capabilities.
Quantitative evidence: The quantitative method involves statistical factors to analyse
problem in my presentation which I have evaluated by taking views of my peers and friends.
Thus, I have taken feedbacks about my confidence and communication level from my colleagues
by talking with 20 people in consideration so that scope for improvement is identified.

grammatical errors. The skills of framing right phrases, it will make m more confident to express

other books like influencer, talk like TED, win and influence people. Talk with anyone etc.
which provide support to me of communicate in better way on daily basis. Thus, continuously
following correct criteria of making conversation build effective confidence which is considered
as an essential factor to communicate with people regularly.
CONCLUSION
The above report had concluded that skills, abilities and working experience provide
support to improve capabilities and knowledge which is essential for attaining success. There are
several kinds of threats in my abilities which get improved by conducting an effective power
point presentation amongst audience. I have searched about problems faced by teenagers
suffering from cancer which helps to gain knowledge about precautions which should be taken
daily life. I have taken several feedbacks from my peers and colleagues about my performance
