REFLECTION
While studying in higher education it becomes important for a student to achieve a number
of different skills efficiently in order to succeed in future. I conducted a self-analysis in order to
know where your skills which I need to develop over the time of my higher studies. The major
skill development required by me were self organisational skills, time management skills and
research skills. There were a number of steps taken by me in order to make sure that I
successfully developed all the skills so that it will help me in personal as well as professional
growth.
The first Skill was self-organisation skill. It becomes necessary for an individual to have
self and organisation skills in order to manage overall studies and all the projects and activities
related to the studies. I took the help of external as well as developed some of the skills myself
with efforts. I made sure that I prepare a schedule for every task that I required to complete along
with all the activities included in the task and the time required to make the task. I made sure that
I minimise the interruption during the work whether it be internal or external. These included
turning of the cell phone, avoiding meeting with useless people and also improving my sleeping
pattern. All these helped in developing self-organisational skills. Other than this I also made sure
that I start the day early so that I can utilise it to the optimum level. There were a number of
other digital skills required to be learnt in order to organise every task in a proper place and
proper system. However, this required external help of experts but I developed it in my overall
study time.
Other than self-organisation skills I also required to manage my time management skills. It is
necessary to manage time because there is a limited time allotted for all the projects, activities
and classes while studying. It is necessary that one takes the maximum advantage of time allotted
to them. I made sure that I make a schedule along with prioritising all the task which are required
to be completed by me. It was necessary to make sure that I do not spend more than required
time in the task. I also avoided communicating with a number of people who waste time. With
the help of all these activities I develop time management skills in order to boost my productivity
and also achieve my goals.
The next skill requirement was research skills. While studying in higher education we
need to conduct a number of researches on different topics. I made sure that I am aware about all
the different types of researches, methods to collect data and proper format to conduct a research.

With the help of a number of materials present online and the help from my professors I
developed this skill. It was required to take external help so that the experts in research field
could help me develop research skills in myself.
