INTRODUCTION
Reflective practice is essential as it helps in analysing the strengths and weaknesses of a
certain activity. It is important to be appropriately conducted to ensure determination of
shortcomings and identification of scope for future development. The following reflection is
based on interview undertaken and skills which are essential for conducting an effective
interview. Moreover, it also reflects on the extent up to which the interview was valid and ethical
as a selection tool.
MAIN BODY
Reflective Essay
There are certain skills which are essential to be developed while taking an interview as it
helps in taking a valid and ethical interview. As per development of my skills, while taking the
interview, there were few skills which were really effective and assisted me in conducting a
proper and structured interview. My communication skills were very effective while conducting
the interview. I was able to interact effectively with the interviewee and created a soothing
environment which assisted in conducting the interview in a smooth pace. Empathy is another
skill which helped in conducting the interview effectively. I was able to empathise with the
interviewee which effectively helped me in removing any sort of hesitation which could have
hindered the overall process. However, I still require to develop my persuasion and critical
analysis skills which would help me analysing skills and competence in an interviewee and could
help identify the most important aspects required in a new individual joining the firm.
The quality of interview was quite effective as it helped me in getting familiar with
different individuals and choosing the most apt individual within the organisation. However,
there are still aspects which are needed to be developed. For instance, the questions asked must
have been more critical to help me in evaluating the competence more effectively.
Interview is effective tool which help an organisation to recruit talented people within an
organisation. As, lots of questions are asked be me in interview related to my personal life and
other competencies. This help to analyse the attitude and behaviour towards work. After
analysing the literature, identified by me that the questions which are asked by me in interview
are very general in nature and not able to analyse candidate’s professional skills. Instead of that
the question are generic and ethical in nature and does not harm anybody’s feelings and bound

all the rules and regulations governed by the government. So, finally assessed that there is scope
of doing better and improve my own interview skills to improve the selection process and retain
talented candidates.
CONCLUSION
It has been concluded from the above report that interview is important aspect which help
to ascertain that the selected is viable in all terms and give its maximum in the growth of an
organisation. The overall emphasis is provided upon the development of interview of skills. The
skills which are developed after analysing all the aspects is about communication, interpersonal
and empathy. Along with that noticed that the process of interview is always needed to be ethical
in nature. The process which is used by and the questions asked in interview are ethical in all
terms and doesn’t harm any others feelings.
