INTRODUCTION
Personal development is an ongoing act of accessing life goals as well as values. It is a
process of building skills in order to reach potential (Lejeune, Beausaert and Raemdonck, 2021).
This study will discuss reflection and way of assessing own strengths as well as weaknesses.
Further, it will discuss personal development plan by which we can develop our strengths and
can accomplish our goals.
MAIN BODY
Reflection on existing skills and knowledge based on feedback to identify own strength and
weaknesses
As I have studied or got degree in bachelor of computer application as I want to do
international leadership and management and sustainable strategic management organizational
behaviour course. I want to start my own company in the future as it is my long term goal. For
increasing my skills and knowledge in this field and developing career in business management I
took admission in Brighton University that provides valuable educational opportunities (Shaheen
and Hameed, 2020). I performed a job role in web image web solution as a GET software
developer and currently I am working at Aarav consultancy as a counsellor. By working as a
counsellor and web developer, I learned a lot of new things and it helped me out in increasing
decision-making, problem solving, negotiation and leadership skills. I handled live client projects
and this job role increased communication skills and boosted my confidence and I believe that
with improved communication skill, I can get an employment opportunities in my desired field
and desired company. Some companies in which I want to get an employment opportunity as
financial analyst or product manager include: TCS, Reliance Industries Ltd, Infosys, ITC, Sun
Pharma and Coal India (Bukharina, 2018).
I believe that communication and leadership skills are vital for performing any job role as
communication skills make us able to interact with our colleagues at office and clients.
Communication skill shows our personality and makes other believe that we are experienced and
effective in our field. It shows our confidence level that is good for us and employer as well. So,
I can say that oral communication and public speaking skill can be beneficial for me as it can
help me out in career development and growth in the future. Along with this, leadership skill also
plays a vital role as I want to become project or product manager and as a successful manager we
are required to have an ability to guide others and motivate them. I can guide others as a leader

or manager only when I have some leadership skills such as: integrity, strategic planning,
problem solving, innovation, team working and others.
There are some areas where I need to focus the most and all these areas I found or analysed
while working as a counsellor. Some skills and areas in which I am lacking behind include: time
management, technical, critical thinking and adaptability (Körkkö, Kotilainen, Toljamo and
Turunen, 2020). At the time of Covid-19 and changing situations, I faced numbers of problems
and from such situations; I got to know that I need to improve flexibility or adaptability skill. I
believe that an ability to adapt new things is vital because situations and business environmental
factors may change any time and when we do not have this ability then it leads frustration. Along
with this, I need to focus on improving time management and technical skills in order to manage
number of tasks in a timely manner.
Personal development plan to achieve goals
Personal development plan is an effective framework or tool that provides guidance and
some resources that can be used for improving skills and knowledge in which we are lacking
behind. This framework is being used after analysing own skills and knowledge and on the basis
of above discussed self reflection, I can say that there are some areas on which I need to focus.
Some skills that would help me out in the future if I improve them include: time management,
technical and flexibility (Özer, Can and Duran, 2020). By implementing and making use of this
personal development framework, I can improve all these skills and can open a new business that
is my term goal. Or also I can get an employment opportunity in my desired company. In
addition, I can say that personal development plan framework can increase our skills and
knowledge with appropriate resources and activities in a timely manner. With the help of this
framework, I will increase my skills and knowledge that I wanted to increase such as:

It has been summarized from the above study that self reflection and personal development
plays a vital role as it helps in increasing knowledge and skills. It guides us in the right direction
and helps us out in improving all those areas and skills in which we are lacking behind.
