INTRODUCTION
Skill audit can be referred to as the comprehensive procedure for measurement and
record maintenance of skills belonging to a person or a group of individuals. The main purpose
of carrying out a skill audit is acknowledged to be identified to be the determination of
knowledge and skills which are needed by a person or group in order to get elevated in academic
or professional setting. In this relation, it is important for students to conduct an analysis of their
skills by way of skill audit to ensure that they possess all the necessary skills, competences and
knowledge which are required for effectively performing in the premise of high school settings.
In addition to this, present report also include discussion upon different types of academic skills
that are time management, team work and presentation skill. The current report seeks to carry
out the skill analysis of an individual based on the selection of three skills. Out of these 3, the
analysis reveals the weaker ones for which an action plan is developed latter to incorporate
improvements within them.
Skills Analysis
It is important for an individual to analyse their skills and knowledge at regular intervals of
time in order to make sure that their personality has all the essential traits that are required for
carrying out the tasks in a specific setting. In this relation, I have carried out a discussion upon 3
of the most important skills for a student who is preparing to enter higher education.
Time management skills
It is identified as the capability held by a person to carry out prioritisation of a certain
time period in a way such that all the given tasks can be completed in that limit of time. The
importance emerges because the students have to do multiple tasks such as assignments, revision
of lectures, exam preparations. Time management skill allows the person to complete all the
activities in a predefined time period. As per my analysis, I have realised that I currently feel
very confident about my time management skills. I am able to complete all of my assigned tasks
before the time allotted for each task. This allows me to gain appreciation from my instructors
for completing all the projects before the deadline. Still I believe in constantly brushing up and
developing my skills to become a better student. To enhance my time management skills, I will
take guidance from my seniors in high school and also take a time management skill

improvement course. This will allow me to better prioritise my tasks in accordance with their
importance.
It has been evaluated that it is essential to effectively equipped with time management
skill in order to ensure that all the required activities of task get accomplished in proper
framework of time. Further it has been seen that individual can sometime face the issue of
ineffective time management for this they can undertake advantage of project priority matrix. It
is one of the most important as well as effective way through which an individual can manage
their time and can conduct all the activities in a well define and effective manner. It has been
evaluated that this matrix is structured approach that allows an individual to firstly accomplish
those task which is utmost important. Thus, by taking advantage of this matrix challenge of
ineffective time management can be overcome by sorting activities as per their importance.
Further it has been evaluated that with the help of better scheduling individual or
organisation can effectively aim towards more productive opportunities. It has been seen that in
this, organisation or an individual can undertake use of The “ Rocks and Sand” analogy.
According to this, it is essential for an individual to prioritize their task in effective manner.
Thus, with the help of both the strategies effective time management can be effectively ensured
by an individual.
Team work skills
This can be said to be the capability of a person to carry out tasks or activities in a group
of more than one individual in a bid to accomplish a specific task within due course of time. In
this relation, it has been ascertained that team working skills provide assistance to the students
operating in the settings of high school to carry out work in a collaborative by leveraging
coordination as well as cooperation in an effective manner. In addition to this, it has been
determined that I am not much confident in team working skills. It is essential for me to take
measures in rapid course of time so that I can improve this skill of mine. This can be done by
way of seeking guidance from my peers, tutor, and seniors. Further, I may also consider taking
part in many team working activities so that this skill of mine can get improved. Development of
team working skills will allow me to execute all the necessary high school tasks, projects and
assignments that need to be carried out in group, effectively. It will also lay down the foundation
to establishment of employability skill through which I will employment in a reputed company in
future course of time.

It has been evaluated that conflicts and issue are common among individuals who are
performing their roles and responsibilities in a team. This is being determined that in a team
negative communication can take place in which team members can start making assumptions.
However, according to this issue can be effectively addressed by encouraging individuals among
group towards the manner with the help of which they can make significant improvement in their
communication skills. In this, team members are required to clarify things and ask questions
rather than making any accusation. In addition to this they are also required to effectively express
their opinions as well as views instead of factor. Team members are also required to speak in a
positive and respectful manner with each other in order to avoid any unnecessary form of
conflicts (Resolving group work issues. 2019). Further it has been determined that team member
must also acknowledge and respect other individuals ideas. Along with this, it is also essential
for them to make understand that team requires compromise and negotiation.
Presentation skills
It is defined as capacity of an individual to engage the target audience for delivery of the view
along with power to impress someone’s or look appealing to motivate. In the higher education
context, this skill is considered to be important as this allows the student to perfectly present
their ideas in front of other persons so as to gain their feedback or opinion upon the same.
Presentation skill is not just concerned with the external outlook of the students but the way a
person carries them during a certain task. As per my analysis, I have weak presentation skills due
to which I possess negligible confidence. To improve my presentation skills, I will practice
speaking in personal first by speaking on any subject for 2 minutes. Also, if required, I will take
guidance from my educators upon the same. Developing this skill will allow me to get a job in
top company in future course of time.
CONCLUSION
On the basis of above discussion, it can be said that every individual requires certain
essential skills and knowledge at every stage of life. This provides assistance to the person in
carrying out the activities in the current settings as per the requirements. In this relation, it has
been duly inferred that skills analysis or skill audit is an important process which renders aid in
identifying crucial skills, competences and knowledge which are required for a particular stage
of life. This acquaints the person with current proficiency in the essential skills required to be

present within them. Apart from this, it has been recognised that there are some skills which are
considered important to be present in a student operating in high school context. These skills
consist of team working, time management and presentation skills. All of these render aid to the
student in gaining appreciation from their educator. These skills help the personnel in high
school context to ensure the timely completion of projects, assignments, revisions of lectures and
so on tasks.
