Good communication skills are vitae elements needed to succeed in competitive job market.
Listening skills ensures that i am able to listen to what clients need so that i can deliver results
according to their expectations (Tyler, 2013, p.66). In the process of obtaining my bachelor’s
degree, i had the opportunity to accomplish a lot of tasks that required working with a group of
other people. Listening skills are needed so as to understand their points and also be able to raise
relevant questions that can help solving the problem at hand. I have also worked as a stock
control assistant in my previous jobs. The role gave me an opportunity to interact with various
customers and employees and this helped me a lot to improve my communication skills which
are very relevant when dealing with customers. As the vice president of college of business
society, i helped with social media to ensure effective communications and the opportunity gave
me a chance to have the capacity to communicate effectively.
Organizations need employees who are conversant with various aspects of administration. The
skills include being a team player, communication skills, typing skills, book keeping skills and
paper management (Chang, and Rieple, 2013, p.232). While working as stock controller
assistance, i was able to equip myself with bookkeeping skills as i was responsible for keeping
records of sales, policies and procedures of the firm. As a volunteer as the student representative
at the university i helped in organizing various events which enabled me to acquire various
organization and administrative skills. The chance enhanced my planning and coordination skills
which ensures that i have the needed organization and administrative skills which can benefit
the organization if given a chance to work in your firm.
Team work in organization helps the firm to solve many challenges because of different inputs
from various employees in the organization. To be an effective team player, someone needs
various skills such as conflict resolution, feedback, problem solving, and decision making and

planning (Farh, et al.2012, p.890). As stock controller assistant, i worked alongside various
employees to deliver quality services in the organization. Working as a team to complete various
operational tasks gave me the ability to work well as part a team. While pursuing my bachelor of
business degree, i had the chance to complete various assignments which required students to
work in groups and the opportunity gave me a lot of professionalism that is needed to work well
in a team. In mentoring program, i was able to learn a lot of problem solving skills in this is a
vital skill needed in order to excel while working with a group of people.
Business wants to attract more customers so as to increase their revenues and also expand.
Employees need to handle customers with a lot of respect and ensure that they are satisfied
(Robles, 2012, p.458). As stock controller assistant, the job involved dealing with customers on a
daily basis. I was able to handle their queries and orders well because i am attentive and also i
have keen attention to details. The skill ensured that i was able to give our customers the needed
products in the right quality and quantity and this ensured customer loyalty (Müller, and Jugdev,
2012, p.762). The chance of interacting with customers helped me develop my customer service
skills. Being a student representative helped me improve my communication skills as i ensured
that the involved stakeholders were well informed all the times and this proves that i am well
developed in customer services.
Projects help the organization to expand so as to meet demand that exceeds supply or to open
new markets. Project management skills are vital in the organization as some projects cannot be
changed or reversed and this can lead to a lot of wastage of limited resources in the firm
(Fellows, and Liu, 2012, p.665). As a student representative, i was able to oversee execution of
various events. Project management requires leadership skills so as to lead the people involved to
the right direction. As a leader of the student who helped in managing various events, i have the
