1SMALL BUSINESS MANAGEMENT
Selection of the Manager
Ed Tobor has been in the Restaurant from the past 14 years in the post of Assistant
manager for helping Frank Rainforsd who has been working as the manager of the restaurant.
Therefore, it is very clear that there is coordination between the Ed Tobor and Frank Rainsford.
Moreover, the experience of Ed Tobor is much more than Son and Daughter of Frank Rainsford.
Making him the manager of the new restaurant would be good idea because he is experienced
and will definitely manage the new restaurant efficiently. On the other hand handing over the
new restaurant to new and inexperienced personnel would not be an effective idea. His daughter
has been helping him since a long time but not as a manager, so making her the manager of the
new restaurant might be risky so he can make her the Assistant manager of his old manager so
that she can assist him and learn about management. His son’s ideas are good for the restaurant
but making him the manager of the new restaurant might not be an excellent idea. Frank can
make is his marketing manager for the new restaurant because his ideas about promoting the
hotel on social media is good for the Hotel. He can provide his knowledge and experience in
promotion of the new ideas and help it grow. Both his Son and Daughter need to gain some
experience and learn about management. His Son would be able to manage the marketing of the
Hotel very efficiently and his Daughter can assist him in the old restaurant. Looking at the
experience of Ed Tobor he should be made the Manager of the new Restaurant.
