1PROJECT PROPOSAL
Introduction
Many of the business owners are depend on the mobile based internet connectivity to
stay connected with the office for getting work done while they are even on road. According
to that end, the business owners use wireless network enabled laptops, Smartphones and even
tabs with 3G, 4G or WiFi connectivity for internet access in a smart home system.
The aims and objectives of the proposal are illustrated in this proposal. In addition to
that, a preliminary literature review is also done to develop the project. The timeline and the
required resources for the proposal are demonstrated in this proposal. All time a laptop may
not get WiFi signal but a mobile can. Thus, WiFi should be used for the smart home system.
Most of the notebooks and even Smartphones have Bluetooth adopters that may establish a
wireless bridge among the devices. Using Smartphone as a modem the internet provider the
smart home system can be securely implemented.

2. Preliminary literature survey
The Internet of Things (IOT) is demonstrated as a process that can connect different
devices and appliances together in terms of smart phone, internet, TV sensor etc. From the
past few years the smart home development has become a significant advanced system that
has added dimensions of communication technologies. The number of connected devices
with the internet service will become 2.1 billion in the coming 2021 as expected [6]. In the
year of 2016, around 82% of machine to machine connections were done over the mobile
networks like 3G, 4G etc. It is expected that the ratio will become 94% because the machine
to machine connectivity cost are quite less than the others. The users can get the connectivity
regardless of their location. It is also expected that this connection will be able to create a
dynamic IOT network, which is mainly used in the smart home systems [9]. IOT application
can bring revolution in many application sectors such as automation, transportation, energy,
technology etc.
In order to develop wide space for advancements and development and also for new
concept evolution the application of Internet of Things (IOT) is very essential [8]. In case of
smart home system all the appliances are found to be connected with the internet and the
operators operate these appliances with a remote control based smart phones and tablets. Not
only the internet connection but also the basic home environment can also control and
monitor the system. These will lead to energy consumption and thus the overall estimation
for cost also gets reduced a lot with this application. In order to access and control the system
with the help of micro web server is much beneficial from the users end and from the
business perspectives [5]. The Wifi (4G network connection) provides communication
protocol to the smart home owner also.

The web based service is am interoperable level of application that can also be
directly connected to many other application domain such as electronic health care service,
vehicular area network, distribution etc [3]. The 4G wifi network connection based smart
home system provides higher level of security, quality and energy efficiency to the users.
There are different wireless technologies available in the market which is applied in the smart
home systems. The Bluetooth based home automation system is one of the most appropriate
smart home systems which are supported by the android based operating systems. In this
case all the devices are connected to the Bluetooth (4G supported) that is widely accessed and
controlled with the smart phone devices [8]. It gives a limited operating range thus, these
kinds of systems done nit have any high mobility. There are two main disadvantages
associated to the 4G supported wifi enabled smart home system [11]. If personal computers
are utilized for the successful completion of the operations then it will consume huge rate of
energy. Hosting and development of the web pages will also add on many costs to it. If
proper graphical user interface is not applied then serious issue may rise in the operational
scenario of the smart home system [1]. This wifi based smart home system architecture is
referred to as three layered architecture and the three layers are home environment home
gateway, remote environment etc.
It is the responsibility of the system developer of the smart home system to consider
all necessary components and factors before the designing. The remote ambiance presents
authorized users who are allowed to access the system from their smart phone app those are
using the 4G net connection [2]. On the other hand the home environment is comprises of

6PROJECT PROPOSAL
Conclusion
From the overall discussion it can be concluded that, with the establishment of a
network connection using Bluetooth WiFi 4G a smart home system can be implemented. This
is referred to as a low cost as well as flexible home control, monitoring system with the usage
of the embedded mocro-web server with an internet protocol connectivity to access and
control device. This application is available for the devices and appliances those are using the
smart phone based android applications. No such dedicated server PC is needed for the
proposed system. A communication protocol can also be used for monitoring and controlling
the home ambiance using the switching functionalities. In order to demonstrate the feasibility
and effectiveness of the smart home system different home appliances such as light switches,
temperature sensors, power plugs and current sensors have been integrated along with the
proposed smart home system. The aim, objectives and resources required for the successful
implementation of the project are also elaborated in this proposal. Not only this, but also in
order to design the Bluetooth supporting smart home system a timeline should be followed
accordingly the details of that timeline or schedule is also illustrated in this proposal.
