AI Summary
This report analyzes a mathematical/computational model of a smartwatch designed to assist visually impaired individuals. The model leverages mobile phone technology and wrist-worn devices to provide accessible interfaces through hand gestures and voice commands. While offering benefits such as medical monitoring and enhanced connectivity, the technology faces limitations like cost and smartphone dependency. Testing on both healthy individuals and target users yielded positive feedback, highlighting the potential for improved accessibility and healthcare monitoring. Future developments should focus on expanded sensor capabilities, improved battery life, and complete mobile phone replacement to further enhance the technology's utility and impact.

1MATHEMATICAL/COMPUTATIONAL MODEL ON SMARTWATCH
In the selected article by Porzi et al. (2013), the author thoroughly studied about the
difficulties faced by the impaired eyesight of the people. He researched about the technology in
the mobile phone which can be transformed into easy and new ways for use for visually impaired
people. Low vision people heavily rely on the screen readers and voice commands over the
typical and traditional use of cellphones. The author wanted to help those visually impaired or
less vision people to be able to use the technology of cell phone in a new and rediscovered way.
The model was built around the mobile technology, and the wrist watches used
traditionally. The idea was to link the usage of the mobile phones with the traditional watches
which was named as smartwatches. Usage of mobile phones with the smartwatches brought a
new look to the mobile users around the world. The watches could be able to use the same
interface of the cell phones and could also be used by hand gestures and voice commands which
are very convenient for handicapped people (Gossweiler & Miller, 2013). Though it brought a
new technology for the minority of the human race, yes it has some limitations like it is very
expensive and it requires a smartphone to be linked with.
The model of the smartwatches was tested on few normal and healthy people to
understand and gain the feedback from them to make the devices familiar and more comfortable
to use. After full testing and gaining positive feedback, those watches were brought to the market
for sale. Few of them were given as charity to handicapped and poor people. It was tested on the
various background like the use of hand gestures for specific functions, voice clarity and testing
of sensors which included heartbeat sensors and blood pressure measurement sensors. It was also
tested for its durability against splashes of water and drop test as well to know the breakable
point of the watches.

The result and feedback from the market were very positive due to the invention of new
technology that can help people in various aspects. Medical attention from the watch brought
popularity among the people. People now do not need to go to a doctor for BP check up and also
monitor their heart rate. It also brought some more interesting features compared with the
traditional wrist watches like calling through wifi or bluetooth of the mobile phone, testing
through watches and camera brought more attention towards the technology.
According to (Komnino & Dunlop (2014), the smartwatches need more update regarding
software and hardware as well. The research should be continued to be able to recognize more
important areas that need to be addressed for the human race. More sensors are required to be
segregated which can detect illness in the body like diabetes and also monitor the function of
different organs of the body. Smartwatches should be able to replace the traditional mobile
phones completely and also do new things like photography and many more basic features. Other
factors like wireless charging and increment of the battery capacity is also needed.
