Introduction
Data collocation is described as the process of collecting, recognizing, analysing the
insights for the research (Lobe and et.al, 2020). In this report, method of data collection is being
discussed. Apart from this various justification and suggestion about the method of data
collection is mentioned in this report. It also contains questionnaire.
Sustainability of questionnaire
By analysing the given case study it has been found that in the company called SME , in
which the employees are facing the major issues such as pay scale, gender mix, age distribution
etc. but majorly they are unhappy with their salary and pay scale although they are not liking the
age differences and discrimination in the job role may be those person who are young but they
are sitting at higher positions in the company so he employees are facing such issues but they are
not directly saying this problem to the management, thus the HR of this company decided to
collect the data and opinions of the employees which is good step form the management thus
they can get to know what exactly the issues is (Flick and et.al, 2017).
So the idea behind questionnaire is profitable for the company as they have staff of 100
hundred people all can participate ion this and can share their views without any hesitation and
management can also bring solution to their problem, on the flip side questionnaire is a cheap
method for the company as they do not have to pay higher cost to recognize the issue, apart from
this it is a quick method to collect the data from ample of people and information can be obtained
at large size.
With the help of questionnaire, employees can share their different issues except pay
scale may be they don't like the environment and work culture of the company. So the method of
collecting data from employees will be helpful for the company as the data will be real,
trustworthy and practical but it depends on the questions as well. HR has to include all the
questions which they want top ask from the employees and also it must be related to the
problems which the employees are facing, so questionnaire will be appropriate for the company
to recognize the issue.
Suggestion and justifications about the collection of data
To collect the relevant data there tare two methods through which the HR and the
management can collect the genuine data (Aguinis and et.al, 2019). As the problem of the
company is huge and they have to make solution at the earliest because when the employees are

not happy with their salary, they will not able to focus on their work so the HR can collect two
types of data- quantitative and quantitative.
Qualitative data remains descriptive and non -statistical, these data do not used number
and graphs to gather the information, this kind of data collection will be helpful, for the
company as the management can know the problems faced by the employees in details even
employees can share their feedback and what are main things which is disturbing the employees
towards their work and what necessary improvement management have to do so that employees
get rid of such issues (Xie and et.al, 2018). Except these HR can put certain questions, which the
employees are not able to tell them directly so with the help of qualitative data, management will
get to know the opinion and views of each and every employees although they will get the
valuable feedback of employees and can take suggestions from them so that management can
resolve this issue soon. Only the loop-hall of this method is that it is time consuming, getting
data from 100 employees will take more time.
On the one hand quantitative data focuses on the statistics and numbers this data uses
metamathematical data. But with the help of this data management can get to know like – how
much salary is being expected by the employees and for how long their salary has not been
increased. But this is less important for the company as it uses trend analysis which is not
relevant because it is not necessary that the current employees face the same issues which the
past employees have been faced. Apart from this, HR can uses open ended and close ended
questions
Justification on the type of question
To gather the necessary information about the issue which is being faced by the
employees , HR uses the questionnaire method through which they can get to know the response
of each and every employees. In the questionnaire the HR focuses on majorly two types of
questions first is general and another is specific. In general questions HR mentioned the name,
age, gender and position so that they can know that all the employees participate inn the survey
and the age and distribution of work issue can get sort out. Through general question HR and
management will get to know is really age discrimination present at the workplace or not. On the
flip side, with the help of specific questions HR will get to know that the employees like the
organisation or not apart from this they will get the clarification that do the employees really
dissatisfied with their job or not because no none employee officially share the problem of pay

scale (Choi and et.al, 2019). HR will know the work is meaningful or not for the employees so
that they can make certain changes in the work apart from this, with the help of questionnaire
management will get to know they really feels discrimination at the work place or not and do the
employees feel fairness at work or not so all the valuable answer can be gathered by the
questionnaire. Company can get the feedback from the employees as well.
Conclusion
From the above report it can be concluded that this report states about the collection of
data through which the company can know the issues faced by the employees and with the help
of questionnaire, company is conducting research so that they can bring solution for the
employees apart from this, qualitative and quantitative data is also mentioned in this report
through which the company can conduct deep research about the issue. Questionnaire is also
being mentioned inn this report.
