Introduction
The company J.M. Smucker’s was started in the year 1897 by Jerome Monroe Smucker.
J.M Smucker’s is a manufacturer of numerous products such as, jams, jellies, toppings, butter
and many other products. The company headquarters are situated at Orrville, Ohio, U.S. In the
year 1959 J.M. Smukcer’s becomes public. Moreover, the company is also recognized from the
Smucker and Smucker’s name (Sharer et al, 2016).
The Smuckers manufactures variety of products and each product is of best quality. For
example the product jam, it is prepared from the crushed fruit and fruit pulp. The demand for jam
is very high and mainly in youngsters due to the reason that it contains delicious taste and also
proteins and vitamins. Moreover, there are different jams made from different fruits such as,
strawberry jam, mango jam, mix fruit jam etc. also the prices of Smuckers’s jam are affordable
(Kennedy et al, 2016).

Product:
The J M Smucker produces bunch of products with the best quality. Their products are
made as per the needs of customers and according to their satisfaction level. The jam is prepared
with hygienic materials and fresh fruits. The jams are stored in glass jars which is quite attractive
and stylish. Moreover, the jam taste very delicious and people residing in U.S. love it, also their
jam contains less sugar as compared from other manufactures (Kennedy et al, 2016).
Pricing:
This marketing mix divides the products as per the customers’ needs. The company
follows the price penetration strategy which aids in lowering the price of jam products from its
competitors. Through this strategy company is able to beat its competitors and is able to win
share based market at low price. The production cost of jam is low therefore; there is effective
price which attracts consumers. The J M Smucker company also focuses on its payment methods
such as, credit cards, debit cards, online transaction etc and also on giving discount, offers and
benefit schemes to attract customers (Datta, Ailawadi, & Van Heerde, 2017).
Place:
It is an important and serious element of marketing mix. This element induces company
to think and plan properly. The company allocates its jam to their existing distributors to
distribute jam directly to its customers. Furthermore, they sell their jam to wholesalers, retailers
who are in contact with shopping malls, big shops and places which are crowded so that people
can easily consume the jam. Even there is also online distribution of jam which is very
affordable and suitable option at present scenario (Schumaker, & Maida, 2018).
Promotion:
Every element has its own effectiveness but promotion is very significant. There are over
and under the line promotional strategies to capture the market and targets. The over and above
line represent options such as, Televisions ads, printing, broadcast etc. and whereas, below the
