INTRODUCTION
Social care workers help an individual and their families for both sides whether it is
emotional and practical by which they can live independently or happy. Support through workers
in social care home provide social, physical, emotional help to their clients which involved poor,
disabled and elder people (Shardlow and et. al., 2015). They help youngsters and family
members towards supporting a person through services. NHS provide various services and
facilities to their employees for take care of all the patients.
TASK 1
P1 Identify roles of non direct care employees
A non direct care workers are employees which are not especially appointed to a specific
location for caring people. They mainly serve the organisation but directly involved within
particular job. There are various non direct care workers in the care home that are as under:
 Laundry/cleaning staff- They are those individuals who clean residents suite, washing,
change their beds and neat lounge. They are essential because they clean the care home
for satisfaction that should be needed.
 Managers- They have some skill which involves communication, confidence, self
management, responsibility and business skills. They require to ensure that whole care
home should smooth run the organisation activities and operations.
 Catering staff- The role of catering staff is to prepare, make and serve food to the
residents and clean the whole kitchen where they make food for their patients.
 Maintenance- NHS maintain their staff member is to develop and formulate within care
homes so they need to correct their mistakes and barriers.
 Pharmacists- They are important part of every care home because they provide
medication to resident for improving their health and keep their health maintained. They
can access minor injuries or wellness of people.
P2 Outline the interpersonal skills required for non direct care workers
There are different interpersonal skills required for non direct care workers that are as
follows: Verbal communication skills- The effective verbal communication is depend on different
number of factors and it can not separated from other necessary interpersonal skill that

includes non verbal communication, listening skill and use of slag. The non direct care
workers use verbal communication skill method which help in easily interact with their
patients in proper manner. Non verbal communication skills- It is that communication skills where an individual
interact with people through their gesture, body language, presentation, dress and face
expression which help in interaction. In NHS, some care workers use such skill for
communicating with people.
 Application of care values- This is that way by which non direct workers maintain
establish values and beliefs for take care of patients. They also require to promote
equality and maintain diversity within an organisation. The non direct care workers
should promote individual rights and values for better take care of all patients in
appropriate manner. It is necessary for care staff members is to maintaining their
communication skills, equality, diversity and individual rights and beliefs in effective
manner.

P3 Explain role of non direct workers in the operation of team
The role in the team or groups are as under: Managers- The main role of manager within a team is to make coordination and
cooperation among all team members for achieving desired goals and targets in proper
manner. They are those individual who maintain and managed all activities of care home
and identify best suitable employees who give appropriate services. Health and care workers- They are important part of NHS care home where all are
maintain stability in working functions (Cameron and et. al., 2014). The role of care
workers is to take care of patients who are suffer from any disease. They provide
effective supervision to their senior and supporting workers within the team and make
good team working. Non direct care workers colleagues- The role of non direct care workers is to maintain
and managed all required functions within an organisation. They need to take care of all
patients and suffering people from any disease. Also they need to provide them best
services and facilities which are appropriate for their health (Jones, 2014).

 Volunteers- They are those individual who are willing to do social care of society people
and assist in treatment, care people's and help in gaining good result and also provide
effective life to various persons.
Purpose of team working: Provide an integrated services- The main motive of non direct care workers towards
team working is to gain advanced services and facilities. NHS provide integrated health
and social care community services and also develop ability and capability for treating all
patients. Give safe and inclusive services- Care workers provides safety and security to their
patients where they feel safe and promote inclusive service that help in improving health.
 Develop effective relationship- This is the main purpose of team working is to build good
and strong relationship between care home workers and patients. For development of
effective relation, they are responsible for fulfil all needs and requirements of their
patients.

P4 Describe role of non direct workers in maintaining safety, health and security in caring
environment
In NHS, it is necessary for maintain health in the caring environment which are describe
as under: Follow hand hygiene process- The main role of non direct care workers is to maintain
health services within the caring environment in proper manner. For preventing from
harmful diseases, all people should wash their hand before eat food (Kadushin and
Harkness, 2014). It is the duty of care workers is to wash all patients hand before eating.
 Maintain high level of cleanliness- The other duty of care staff is to keep cleanliness in
all around the care home so they can protect from any harm and danger.
Maintain safety in caring environment: Safe storage and disposal of waste products- Care workers should secure storage room
and also discard wastage products from outside of care homes.

 Use of substances hazardous to health- In NHS, the manager use and adopt latest
techniques for protecting people from any dangerous disease (Lloyd-Evans and et. al.,
2014). So they always look after their health and maintain security system.
Maintain security in the caring environment: Ensure unsecure area should out of bounds- It is necessary for care workers is to keep
confidential area which includes store rooms, sheds.
 Make sure entry and exit process are follow- This is the major role of care staff
members is to ensure that all the patient and their relative should follow entry and exit
procedure within an organisation. So guards are maintain security systems in proper
manner.
P5 Importance of management and supervision in the development of non direct workers
There are various purpose for maintaining supervision and management that are as under: Promote and maintain good practice- It is necessary for non direct workers is to
maintain and promote effective exercises of people within an organisation. Provide training- For providing training and development sessions to care workers for
improving their skills and ability by which they maintain and manage all functions of
management (Importance of supervision and management. 2017).
 Develop relationship- The supervision and management is required for developing non
direct staff members is to make strong and sound relation with their patients in better
manner.
CONCLUSION
From the above mentioned report it can be analysed that Social care workers help an
individual and their families for both sides whether it is emotional and practical by which they
can live independently or happy. Non direct care workers are employees which are not especially
