Introduction:
The significance of the national health policy is considerably high for the general
citizens of the nation. With a close look at the vulnerable situation of global forces in
managing several health related threats, the national health policy plays an important role in
safeguarding the general citizens of the nation. As per the comments of Guest et al. (2015),
the national health policies cover various aspects of the healthcare system of the nation and
along with that, it focuses on the requirement of the developmental work in different fields of
the national health system. Hobbs et al. (2016) mentioned that, the health care system is
continuously evolving and in such situation, the necessity of developing the infrastructure for
tackling the ever evolving threats is pretty prominent. Having said that, the implementation of
the provisions mentioned in the health policies require a certain level of support from various
parts of the society. On the other hand, Ali et al. (2017) criticised the traditional inclusions of
the national health policies with the claim that majority of the national health policies framed
by different national governments are observed to be reluctant in considering the inclusion of
the mental health and social. As a result, the effectiveness of the health policies is seen to be
at stake. In such situation, it is important for the citizens and different societal authorities to
intervene through educating the policy makers regarding the significance of the left out
aspects of the national health policies.
The study discusses regarding one such issue which has a greater significance at the
global stage but it is observed to be of less priority for the national government of United
Kingdom and that is pretty prominent with the allocation of the monetary funds. The critical
issue is the social care. The importance of social care is notably high for developing a stable
society and in such situation, the accurate management of the social care related activities is
observed to be crucial considering the socio cultural situation of the nation. The study

highlights the importance of social care in getting pushed in the national health agenda and
along with that, the study identifies actors which have the capability to increase the priority of
the issue in the national health policy of the nation. Along with identification, the study
portrays the link between these identified actors. Apart from this, the study delivers an
interesting justification regarding the analytical framework which requires to be used for
evaluating the excellence of the policy and at the same time, the study mentions the
significance of the findings in promoting good health of the country.
Identification of the Issue:
With a detailed focus on the national health policy of United Kingdom, it is
understandable that the health policy of the nation is putting considerably limited emphasis
on the management of social care and that is visible with the reduction in the percentile
consideration of the social care budget allocations. According to the comments of Gradinger
et al. (2015), the increasing speed in the lifestyle of the general citizens is observed to be the
main reason for a variety of health issues which includes the job stress, fatigue, frustration,
job related grievances, personal life conflicts and dilemmas. These issues affect the general
sustainability of personal and professional life of the individuals. Apart from this, the social
care activities include a wide range of services well framed for taking care of the senior
citizens and the challenges that they face (Latif et al. 2016).
