INTRODUCTION
Social care refers to an effective plan to provide care for welfare of vulnerable
individuals and groups of overall experiencing marginalisation, disadvantage and special
requirements. It includes the criteria of considering legal and ethical rules in terms of delivering
better services to people for their well-being (Knott and Scragg, 2016). In context of given
portfolio, it is based on the scenario of working as a social care practitioner in TU DUBLIN
Tallaght Campus to provide facilities for needy individuals. This assignment will focus on type
of services and theoretical context along with legal boundaries of practising. It will also include
the code of professional conduct and ethics as well as communications methods.
MAIN BODY
Illustration on the type of service, funding, client group, access to the service and services
offered
Social care workers provide a number of services in order to fulfilling the requirements of
individuals, communities and families. Social care worker work with a large range of individuals
such as children, families, patients and so on. Agencies like TU DUBLIN Tallaght Campus also
provide social care services such as offering services to communities, residential care, poor
children, hospitals and so on. Social work is a challenging profession as it requires range of
personal qualities such as understanding individuals, patience, resilience and tolerance.
Funding for such social care organisations are provided by different government
agencies. Local councils and adults social care in UK invest a large amount for providing funds
to the individuals. There are some volunteers also who tends to provide funds for the needy
people and families that need financial support. Respective organisation gets its funds from local
government (Baldwin, 2016).
Services offered by respective organization is supply by involving a range of social
workers. They help poor families and families with disabled children. They provide support to
vulnerable individuals mostly in the community. They offer free services to all citizens of the

country including all necessary facilities such as support and proper care and providing
medications and stuffs.

Models of practice in social care discuss about how social care workers can implement
theories. It provide with a blue print of how to help others and provide necessary support. It
helps in to create some kind of change in the services if required. Some of the theories in social
care practice are discussed below.
Systems theory: It basically describe human behaviour in terms of complex systems. It is
based on the idea that effective system can be achieved on the basis of individuals needs,
rewards, attributes and expectations. This theory can be implemented in TU DUBLIN Tallaght
Campus in order to educate students of social acre practice to teach them about all the basic
information about needs and requirements of individuals.
Social learning theory: This theory need to be implemented in respective agency. It will
help the students of respective organization to learn the basic learning process. It states that
learning occurs through observation and limitations. This theory explains that people learn
through observing others (Roland and Everington, 2016). Thus, theory will help social workers
to analyze if individual has been influence by others and to motivate them to pick the right track
in their life.

Being a social worker, it is necessary to practice safely under the guidance of ethical, legal and
practice boundaries. There are number of legal and ethical boundaries set by government in order
to deliver services to individuals within a community. It is necessary to maintains such
boundaries to assure professional integrity and responsibility. General social care council in UK
is a legal boundary set for spacial workers. The key role of this council is to promote and set
standards of conducting social care practices (Pullon and et. al., 2016). Health and care
professional council is also a legal boundary in UK which sets some standards for education and
training of social care practitioners. They set basic standards for performance an professional
development of social workers.
Ethical boundaries should also be followed by social workers. Some of ethical boundaries
are core values of social workers, social justice, maintaining dignity of individuals, maintaining

The CORU registration board developed a framework code and ethics description of

is to promote the people by encouraging professional education, training amongst health and
social care professions and professional conduct. They currently establish boards of professionals
including social care workers (Doel, Shardlow and Sawdon, 2017). The social workers are

Dignity is obsessed with how citizen thinks, feel and act in relation to the value or

As I am a social practitioner able to adapt any workplace and try to keep fast rate during

may develop any type of outcomes. The policies are build-up to ensure the health, safety of
employees which may be affected by an organisation. The policies are required when there is
diversity of interest are their they can comply with employ as well as with the associated
organisation. The policies are used to strengthened the dignity, health of service users (Waller,
Masterson and Evans, 2017). From the implication of these policies, it save time when a new
problem arises during the services care. With the use of policies in an organisation it clarify the
functions and responsibilities of service providers with respect to the service users. There are
three examples of policies which can be use with in authorized organisation and they are below.
Workplace security policies :- This policy is to protect not only the people but it also
protect the intellectual properties. Policies can cover the procedures including use of ID cards so
that no other people come in the organisation in order to harm users.
Equal opportunity policies:- This policy works on the principle of promotion of fair
treatment in an organisation. Their aim is to encourage unprejudiced behaviour at the workplace.
This policy decline inappropriate behaviour to the gender or any cultural beliefs of a person with
in an organisation (Clark, 2016). This policy is linked with the external sources as the
government provides such polices across the world.
Substance abuse policies :- Many companies make internally policies that no use of
drugs, alcohols are be used in an organisation. These policies outline the procedures that every
employees must follow.

regulation which encourage social care professionals to protect the information related to
patients. It is very important to maintain privacy of data because a minor medical issues is
responsible for developing major societal problem which is suitable for patient's rest of the life
(Gould, 2016). However, this legal rule states to follow relevant data protection principles
including data use fairly, lawfully & transparently. It should be only used in specified, adequate
and limited manner if necessary. It is also essential to gather, access, store and process the
relevant information in accurate and private way.

Considering the above portfolio, it has been summarised that social care practitioners
provide specific care facilities to desired individuals for supporting them to overcome. It includes
the criterion of following data protection act and ethical principles like autonomy, confidentiality
& beneficence to deliver appropriate care services for welfare of needy people.
