INTRODUCTION
Health and social care sector has diverse role which are performed as per the demand and
need of people. It includes all the work that are being performed by hospitals, care homes and
nursing departments. It treats mental health and physical illness of people. This is the biggest
sector in terms of occupation in United kingdoms. In this present report, Principles of support
will be covered along with Procedures that are adopted in care homes for protecting clients and
colleagues from harm. In addition to this, Benefit of person-centred approach with the service
users will be described in brief.

1. Principles of support are applied to ensure that service users are cared for in Fleetwood Hall
Home.
Health and social care are established to provide services to people who are in need.
Principles are just for setting simple rules and guidelines through which work can be carried
through a specific path (Barrington, 2018). Principles helps in success and ensures safety of
people along with anti discriminatory policies. There are certain principles which are followed
by Fleet wood hall home to ensure safety and support to old age people and young children.
Principle of support is the major principle which is applied by Fleet wood to ensure that
individuals are cared in there organisation. Many a times people feel that they are being
discriminated and feel like their independence is taken away from them (Glasby, 2017). Principle

management. This principle also says to ensure data protection of service users.

used to support people and their health. Communication helps people in sharing their views and

To protect clients and colleagues from harm there are majorly two procedures which can
be followed by health and social cares. The first way is to protect service users from harm and
another one is by protecting them from being abused at care homes.

Person centred approach majorly focus on needs of service users and make sure that it is
fulfilled on timely manner or not (Person-centred approach. 2017). This approach helps in
providing help to those who are in need and disabled. Fleet wood hall home is taking measure
like providing wheel chairs to people and along with that medication to people who are ill (Moss,
2017). Their entire focus is on making people feel good and happy. Even hall home is planning
to give new clothes of their choice so that they can feel good.
Person centred approach has many benefits in which some of them are follows:
It creates a positive and healthy environment for service users as there needs are major
focus while using this approach.
It gives a feeling of motivation to old age people when they feel that there every thing is
considered as priority and their care is taken in good way.
Person centred approach has many other benefits also where people feel improvement in
their lifestyle.
Person centred approaches will be helping Fleetwood Hall Home in way of providing the
accessible and responsive and flexibility in services which will allow to meet all diverse needs
and preferences of patients. This type of approach will be helping the company in delivering best
type of care and service which they are all deserving and in need of as well. Most of the
individuals would like to remain independence for longer time period and they will relay on
community care system so that it could be helping them for their daily need. So Fleetwood Hall
Home would also be allow their customer to have greater control on their own lives and the

4. Ethical dilemmas and conflict that may have arisen when providing care, support and
protection to the elderly clients in Fleet wood Hall Home care home.
Ethical dilemmas is a situation where a person needs to make choice between two or
more things. This will be the major concern problem where clients need to think. The old aged
people are very short tempered about every small matter like the way they are being treated or
any kind of discrimination is not at all accepted by old age people (Taggart and et.al.,2017).
There are many dilemmas which are faced by entire management while handling old age people.
To explain it an example has been given. Mrs Z is 60 years old lady and is a diabetes patient.
Mrs Z like to eat sweet dishes and if the same has not been provided than Mrs Z gets tempered.
On the other hand, if sweet dishes has been given to her than it can create bad impact on her
health. So it is a major dilemma for care taker to give her sweets or not. There will be many type
of ethical dilemmas which the care giver will face time of taking care of elderly people in
Fleetwood Hall Home. Like there will be problem in giving medicine as older people are always
dependent upon care taker for their medicine. If there is any emergency case within Fleetwood
Hall Home and the care giver is to attend that particular patient then there will be dilemma for
either giving medication to one patient or to treat the other one. This discussion of ethics will be
focusing on role of autonomy and cost containment will be important part for the cost of
delivering health care incurred at end of the life.
Conclusion
From the above report it has been concluded that Health and social care are established to
provide services to old age people and young children also been taken care of at such social
cares. They follow person centred approach where focus is on needs of service users and make
sure that it is fulfilled on timely manner. In addition to this, this report has also summarized that
there are many dilemmas faced by care takers while giving services to old age people. But
management try to find out some solutions so that they can give best services to people who are
in need. Furthermore, Certain food hygiene rules are also made by Fleet wood hall so that
unhygienic food will not be served to old age and young people. It will help in protection of their
health from getting harm.
