The focus of the essay has been on the skills of critical thinking which are required for
analyzing a psychologically charged theme. Bullying can be defined as the dehumanization of
other individuals with or without an intention to harm the person. It can be explained as the
aggressive and unwanted behavior, especially among young children, which involves a perceived
or real imbalance of power. This kind of behavior is often repeated, or it has a potential to be
recurring.
The most significant step in the guide of the student for research is to identify or analyze
bullying. Bullying can be categorized as a Deviant Behavior. The most critical step in the
student’s guide for researching that are needed by the students in order to research and analyze
bullying is by comprehending that criminal deviance and social control are the two ethics which
contributes to bullying in the society.
Generally, the critical steps of research method comprises of some key components like,
writing of a protocol, performing experiments, tabulation and analysis of data, writing of a
document or thesis for the purpose of publication (American Educational Research Association,
2013).
Firstly, a clear conception regarding bullying need to be comprehended in order to
analyze the matter with regard to criminal deviance and social control. Acknowledging the
lecture of Barbara Coloroso on the related topic, it can be summarized that deviant behaviors
should be addressed.

Human Services of United States should be abided by. The symptoms and behaviors are to be
recorded and compared from one period to the other. The hot spots are to be identified, like
school busses, playgrounds, and the like, where there is a high proximity of the occurrence of
bullying. All the acts are to be done in compliance of the district policies and laws of the state.
Considering all the factors, a hypothesis should be prepared, providing a rationale or conclusion.
Bullying can be categorized as a Deviant Behavior. There are many factors which play an
important role in the in the concept of bullying, like society and culture, socialization,
conformity with the persons who bullies, race, gender, ethnicities and others.
Many people are usually involved in the lives of children, which in turn have an impact
in their lives. Communication with parents can often resolve many problems relating to criminal
deviance, like bullying, irrespective of the fact whether the child is a perpetrator or at the
receiving end of bullying (Hong & Espelage, 2012). Even conformity or agreeing with the peers
in school who are engaged in bullying, in order to be acceptable in the group, often leads to
deviant behaviors.
The key focus of the essay was the identification of criminal deviance and social control,
with regard to bullying, especially in schools. Bullying has been evidenced to be increasing over
the years, in various forms, both in reality and in the virtual world, like cyber bullying. The steps
in the research have been identified. The process by which the agents of socialization as well as
formal organization, like being in conformity with the groups, play a part in bullying. There are
many other factors, which act as a catalyst or give indulgence to bullying.
