Introduction
The thesis of this study will explore the ongoing project of “World Religions in
Richmond Project(WRR)” which represents near about 800 religious congregational units that
represents various religions that has originated from “Richmond Metropolitan Unit”.
Section 1:
The fact about the WRR Project is that it is operated by a Muslim based
organization practicing Islam religion originally, and has been established with the integration of
Islam individuals (wrldrels.org, 2020). The organization operating the project is named as
Virginia Muslim Coalition for Public Affairs, founded in the year 2001, by a group of Muslim
activists. The group was formed in response of the September 11 attack, which affected the Islam
and other Muslim communities. The 9/11 incidents resulted in near about 2900 deaths and near
about 18,000 small businesses were hampered (edition.cnn.com, 2020). Al Qaeda Osama Bin
Laden initiated the war which threatened hundreds and thousands of Muslims that have been
residing in United Kingdom States . The community was formed in spreading and preaching the
actual aspects of Islamic region, which includes “mercy, peace and justice”. Many people
practicing isolation were given chance to express themselves by joining this community.
Section 2:
The main aim of the WRR project initiated and developed by the Muslim community Group
“Virginia Muslim Coalition for Public Affairs”, is developed to understand the religious

constraints of Islam. They want to influence the whole nation, along with the local regions about
the actual meaning of the Islam community and their positive side of Muslim American religion.
They have the goal and mission to serve the whole nation not being centered to Muslims, and
improvise the standard of living by moral uplifting, justice and decreasing the level of poverty.
They have merged and collaborated with various other public service oriented services like
Virginia Interfaith Center for Public Policy, to work for humanity and common cause. This has
provided the chance to the Muslims residing in American residencies to involve in the local
communities.
Section 3:
The two main social impact this community has made through their
implementation of WRR project is that many Muslim people were practicing isolation and feared
in involving with the residents of Richmond. Although, there are many Muslim people who have
been residing in Richmond all their life, were also threatened by the alarming increasing rate in
hate crimes. According to nytimes.com, (2020), the example of a 56 Mrs. Firduas who is
threatened and thinks of leaving the place due to the crimes and changing Governmental policies.
The first social impact this project had is helping many Muslim people to come out and involve
with the local communities. The second impact it had made with collaboration with other policy
making nonprofit organizations like Virginia Muslim Coalition for Public Affairs to make an
impact on common good not being centered to Muslims, making their primary activities
involving in education, social gatherings, supporting the poor and creating awareness related to
environment. The social involvement of Muslim communities included voter registration; they

have managed to get one hundred new voters registering for Richmond, belonging from Muslim
Communities (Jozaghi & Dahya, 2016).
Conclusion
The study has mentioned the importance of the development of the community Virginia Muslim
Coalition for Public Affairs who have established the WRR project. It has created huge impact
on the residing Muslim community, as ell involving them with the local community and create a
space in Richmond. The development of this community has created unbiased effects on the
Richmond people.
