There are many countries whose growth is affecting due to different political and social
issues. Thus, in order to present these issues among general-public different writers have written
varied novels or stories. In this essay, stories written by Ha Jin, Isabelle Allende, and Nawal EL
Saadawi will be evaluated. This essay will conclude that how the ideas which are explored by
these authors are relevant to public discussion.
Among all rape is being regarded as one of the most prominent issues for many countries.
In this regard, it has been examined that government of nations has formed different acts and
laws with an aim to take action towards the specific issue. However, Nawal El Saadawi has
presented this issue in a very different way. In his story, he has given description regarding the
society’s perception of men and women status. Here, the author has shown female relevance to
that small animal who always kept in the small and dark room. Similarly, men are denoted as
large animals who always dominate small animal because of their power. Hence, it can be said
that respective story totally revolves around the condition of women in society. The story which
is written by Nawal could help in enhancing the motivation of female who are living in society.
Further, it will also encourage them for taking action against rape or physical abuses that happen
under a closed door. In addition to this, the author has put his major focus on equality. In the
article, he has clearly explained that each individual who has taken birth in the world possess full
authority to enjoy his/her freedom and right. In addition, in the respective article author has used
different strong sentences like “Women have their own mind” and “They are more worth than
their reproductive organ etc” for the purpose to motivate women. Thus, it is correct to say that
Nawal el Saadawi has effectively spoken about ongoing effort to combat rape culture in his
stories.
This is because the situations like rape and physical abuses can be eliminated if an
individual who is the victim of such condition will take significant action towards the same. This
is because any fight can be won if people unite together and take action towards a specific issue
which is affecting them most. MeToo movement is also a similar type of approach here it gives a
platform to women wherein they can freely express the rape and physical abuse issues which
they are facing at present. This is because with an aim to do the same lots of courage are
required. However, women have a tendency to hide things which put question mark upon their
image. Here, women always keep their mouth shut even though they are fully aware of the fact
that they are not in a faulty position. Thus, it is very right to say that the story written by Nawal

addition to this, these all things can be presented in public discussion. Here, by using this article
discussion can be conducted on the situation of women in society. Further, it also raises many
questions among debaters such as why women are treated in such manner and how their situation
can be resolved etc. Thus, the discussion can be conducted in which all the given questions will
be answered.
Besides this, it is not only women who are being harassed by the people of society but
men also. This thing has been explored by Ha-jin in his story. Here, he has given a description of
the condition of one individual who is being arrested by policemen for no reason. This indicates
that people have lost their values and ethics for doing their job. The country can function
effectively if its citizens give value and respect to the equality principle. However, it can be
evaluated that the absence of respective aspect will lead to cause direct impact on the condition
of nations. Further, the given thing will also raise the situations like crime and war. Thus, it is
very important that people of society should be aware of the conditions which are happening
around them. This is because, if given step is not taken then significant action towards the issues
will not be carried out. Hence, in the given task the authors who are mentioned above are playing
a very effectual role. Here, it is with the help of their support the only condition of individuals is
presented among a large number of people. The given thing will motivate those people who are
the victim of cases of rape and physical abuses etc.
In a similar way, the story which is written by Isabel is related to the cost of war. Here,
she has given a description that how the condition like war affects whole nation and give rise to
the cases of rape. Herein, it is examined that the situation like war causes direct impact on
character development of people who are living within society. Thus, by communicating the
consequences of war, Isabel has to entail fear among individuals who are giving fire to the war-
like situation. The given thing will also encourage individual for avoiding the situation like war.
This is because, if not done then condition of the country will become worst. The similar type of
thing can be conducted in the debate also.
Yes, the articles which are written by Ha-jin and El Saadawi offers varied insights which
are pertinent to the criminal justice reform. Here, the insights which these authors have offered
are not direct but they are indirect. Here, control over the criminal cases related to rape and
physical abuse will be carried out if the people who are facing these situations will raise voice

against it. But, it can be critically evaluated that these both authors have not given a description
of the actions which are taken against people who committed rape or physical abuses. If this will
be done then significant support can be provided to criminal justice reform. This is because it has
been seen that complete stop towards rape-related criminal issue will be carried out if fear of
committing such crime will be created among male. However, all the articles which are written
do not give details about the things which have happened to that individual who has committed
such crime. Thus, only given thing is missing in the article. Hence, if the respective gap will be
filled by author then the article written will become more effective.
Overall, it can be said that the ideas which are presented by all three authors are relevant
for public discussion and debate. This is because; these all articles give a description of one
major issue such as rape which is hindering the overall development of society. Here, by using
the context of these written articles discussion can be carried out upon the condition of women in
society. On the basis of conducted analysis debate can be carried out on different tactics with the
help of which situation like rape can be combated in an effectual way. In addition to this, these
articles also offer debate on the ways to mitigate the situation like war. For the given purpose,
different tactics should be suggested which is being adopted by different nations in order to deal
with the complex situation like war. These all things will guide nations towards the correct
direction in an effectual way. Therefore, it is correct to say that the authors have a very important
role in society as they represent the major issue of the nation among citizens in a very creative
way.
