INTRODUCTION
Reflection report gives an opportunity to learners to present and analyse their own
contribution, in obtaining desired outcomes of a project (Quinn, 2020). It helps in
reflecting how they have completed each and every assigned role, as well as what
circumstances they have faced during performance. In this sense, I am going to reflect
my own journey including my personal contribution in meeting the objectives of present
research.
MAIN BODY
My personal contribution to topic selection
This project has allotted me in a group of three members where, all are highly
knowledgeable and skilled in their part of work. At initially, as this project is based on
business related research, therefore, me and my team have decided to make research
on most common aspect, on which each and every company is deal (Harvey, M. and
Vlachopoulos, 2020). It includes e-commerce, social media and other tools for
enhancing online presence and marketing business at world-wide level. In this regard,
after making a lot of discussion and conducting group making, my team has decided to
research on social network. In this sense, the topic selected to make business project
was – "Advantages and disadvantages of using social networks in business to
business marketing". Me and other two members have contributed equal role in
selecting this topic, in which my role was to take approval on topic by checking
feasibility of the same. For this purpose, I have performed online research to determine
if any previous project has made on same topic. This would help in analysing how long
it will take to complete the project. In addition to this, another main role of mine in topic
selection, was team charter by making a group discussion (Golenko, X. and et. al.,
2020). It clarifies team direction, during establishment of boundaries, with specification
of mission, objectives and scope of project. Along with this, I have also supported other
two members in making aims and research question based on chosen topic.
My personal contribution to literature review
After choosing topic, the next activity was based on collecting secondary
information, for addressing research objectives. For this purpose, me and my team then

focus on dividing the research question into some achievable objectives (Quinn, 2020).
Three main themes were chosen for gathering data from articles, books and articles as
Theme 1 Concept of Social network and Business to Business marketing;
Theme 2 benefit of Using Social Networking in regards of business to business
marketing; and last one is Theme 3: Drawback of using social media marketing
with reference to business to business marketing. Among these themes, I have
worked on collecting information on third theme, where to determine main drawbacks of
social media marketing, in context with business to business, many articles and journals
have been explored from authenticate resources. The main strength point of mine is my
research skills, which I have utilised in identifying and selecting best secondary sources,
for collecting reliable and accurate information (Harvey, M. and Vlachopoulos, 2020).
After chosen articles, I have read entire data, conduct proper analysis them articulate
with other members, for summarising information to meet research problem. In this
regard, I have given my main contribution in conducting literature review by not only
gathering information on third theme, but also give support to other team members in
completing their assign role, by helping them in chosen effective articles.
Furthermore, another role of mine in literature review part was to check accuracy
of data, collected in literature review part. For this purpose, I had emphasised more on
checking authenticity and reliability of each resource chosen to address themes, before
summarising so that accuracy of data can be maintained.
My personal contribution to research methodology
This part is considered as one of the main task, under which whole strategy,
techniques, way of collecting and analysing information, as well as how research
objectives will achieve, is planned (Golenko, X. and et. al., 2020). It would help in giving
direction to each associated members regarding way for conducting assigned roles and
responsibilities, in defined way. In this regard, in present business based project, mine
role was to conduct methodology and then concluded what will be done. This section is
divided into a number of sub-sections, as research type, approach, philosophy, data
collection, sampling, data collection, ethical considerations, reliability and validity, as
well as identifying limitations. Therefore, any mistake in chosen tools and techniques,
will directly impact negatively on outcomes of research. So, to cope from this threat, I

had given proper time to understanding importance on each sub-topic of research
methodology, by reading out books and class based modules (Quinn, 2020). This had
helped me in carrying the assign role, in best way within set period of time, without
compromising the duration set for completion of other activities. After then, as another
role of mine was concluded the research methodology in brief, I had outlined specific
tools and techniques, including way to analyse data for meeting objectives of present
project. As I have further mentioned that research skill is one of the strength point of
mine, so, after completion of assigned duty, enables me to improve my abilities more
efficiently.
My reflection on research experience
Working on this project based on social media marketing strategies, I have gained
opportunity to engage in team, where both members have given me support and equal
contribution, in meeting deadline (Harvey, M. and Vlachopoulos, 2020). But one of the
major difficulty that me and my group members have faced, was regarding with
improper management of time. No one among my team was highly expert to specify
duration of each part and frame activities. For this purpose, I have taken support of
seniors and lectures to analyse techniques that could help to meet project deadline.
Learning experience
This project has given me advantage to analyse how social media marketing helps
business, to market their products (Quinn, 2020). Work within group, aid me to develop
team-based learning skills like sharing abilities, work in cooperation and more. In
addition to this, struggling with managing time, also give opportunity to analyse
importance of time management skill, for successful completion of a project. So, me and
my team members have made plan for developing such skills, which are essential to
conduct future projects, with more efficiency.
CONCLUSION
It has been concluded from entire report that reflection is one of the good academic
practice, that helps learners to summarise entire journey in brief. They can evaluate
what contribution have been made by them, for successful completion of a project.
Along with this, what problems they have faced, which strategy they have used to cope

up from same etc. So, for each learner, it is essential for them to make reflective report
after completion of each assessment, to evaluate which mistakes they have made and
what have been learnt, including areas, where more work need to be done for giving out
best performance in future projects.
