Internet is a framework which connects all the computer in one network all over the
world. Internet also help the organization, University, government to carry their operations
effectively. It is a large database system which have large amount of information which is
relevant to users of internet. Use of internet is also growing wit growing demand and knowledge
about internet as it also help business organization to increase its efficiency by gaining all
information which is needed to formulate strategies and expand business organization. It is the
fastest medium of communication which connects user from one geographic location of the
world to another. Whereas social media is component of internet which facilitates all the services
provided by business organization. Social media is commonly used to exchange thoughts with
large group of individual. Demand of social medial s growing rapidly and it is also becoming
essential aspect of daily routine of individual. In this report Internet and social media will be
discussed with explanation about their challenges and effective solutions to facilitate services to
population.
Positive and Negative Impact of Social Media on the Internet
Social media have grown with tremendous rate and which have covered the market to
increase the efficiency of population. Facebook, Whatsapp have taken over the social media
platform to next level by innovating and also providing services which help the user to increase
the quality of their work and exchange of thoughts. With the increase in innovation it also
teaches user new information and make them more knowledgeable in their field to achieve the
objectives. Social media also provided a base for the nations to connect and bring them closer
and become the effective in their activities with less cost and high efficiency (Yin and et.al.,
2015). Although social media have also decreased the efficiency of social gathering and
disturbed the social balance as individual are less likely to go out and meet other and meet them
on social media. As it have changed the thinking on population and also confused them between
virtual and reality. There are positive and negative impact of social media which need to be
analysed in order to make the society more independent and effective.

Connectivity- Social media have provided with better connectivity with the help of internet as
users can be in touch with each other from different geographic location and it also increases the
communication between different nations to share better information and understand cultures.
Social media also helped society to increase the standard of thoughts with higher information
about the world.
Education- Education is very essential aspect of growing economy of nation and social media
push user to et information which will help them to increase their knowledge and increase their
personality in decision-making. Social media help to provide a platform to the teacher and
professional to share their skills and knowledge to the person who needs it to increase their
activities and gain benefits from it. This will also reduce the cost of information.
Help- Social media is the exit from all the pain and depression as it helps users to meet new
people which share same thoughts and can also share the thoughts to share each other and be
stable and stabilize their health. Help can be monitory, mentally, physically as social media have
all the types of individual which can satisfy their needs.
Awareness-Social Media also help society to gain knowledge which van lead to creative ideas
and innovation of their operations. Social media is a platform which will also provide better
knowledge about every subject with detail and there are experts which will also help them delver
awareness.

Negative Impacts of Social Media
Cyber Crime- Social media is also a hub of information which leads to criminal activities. Cyber
crime is not common thing on the internet platform which takes place to steal the information
and money. This also discourages the population to be on social media as it is not safe for them
and it is open to everyone.

Addiction- this is very common issues of present day that social media user are addicted to the
virtual life and have confused it with that(Surugiu and Surugiu, 2015). Young Students are often
addicted to social media as they find it mode peaceful, and they find it the escape from all their
issues and problems.
Frauds- due to strong connectivity it is very hard for the user to identify the truthfulness of the
user which can be fake. For example- cash grabs is very common where the fraud takes the
money of the user in consideration of some goods and services but never revert. It also involve

their information to increase their satisfaction. Facebook, LinkedIn, Whatsapp are also providing
effective safeguard to ensure the efficiency of social media in providing the platform to reduce

user saved on clouds which also arises the question of security of the data as there are mane
challenges to secure the privacy of Users.

harassment cases as the personal data of users are not safe. It is more common in preset days to

other just for revenge this. It also decreases the mental stability of the user but faces many
criticisms socially.
