Introduction
In the modern world, social media plays an important role in managing the daily life
of people. The manner in which social media is used to maintain communication with every
person in the world contributes employees to assess it for seeking jobs (Van Iddekinge et al.,
2016). This essay provides an analysis of the manner in which social media profiles have
become a critical component in job seeking in 2017.
Body
Roth et al. (2016) compared the search made in social media with the search made
while seeking jobs. Therefore, it is important that employees find employers that meet the
requirements of the organisation and provide people with an identity to be involved in the
jobs. In the modern world, most organisations have social media profiles that help potential
candidates understand an organisation in an effective manner. Thus, candidates seeking job
can help in understanding the type of work that goes on in the organisation by the various
feedbacks that are given in the social media. At the same time, this can be true from the point
of view of the employers.
The employers can understand the type of employee that is recruiting via the social
media profiles. The profiles usually warrant candidates to pose certain truth about their
lifestyle. This provides employers with a view of the personality and the likes of the
employees. As stated by Montalvo (2016) the employers can analyse the profiles of the
employees in detail and verify the facts that have been provided to them during the interview.
Most of the times in the modern world, it has been seen that social media profiles of the
candidates provide valuable information to the employers that may help them in deciding

about the future of the candidate. One of the most effective manners in which the candidates
can use social media is by sharing the post related to jobs.
Buettner (2016) stated certain differences that are received from the application of job
via social media. In the traditional method, jobs were sought by the word of mouth of the
employees and because of this; trust on the type of job that is being done could not be
obtained. However, with the application of social media contact lists can be build that
provides opportunities for new horizons to be developed. Social media provides opportunities
to students and other job seekers at every level to find jobs and contribute towards securing
the future. A strong network can help people get jobs easily than other people.
Conclusion
Thus, it can be concluded that the social media plays a big role in every aspect of life.
In the modern day without the application of social media, individuals fail to remain
connected with the world. The fact that the social media profiles provide a proper background
about a particular person helps employers to understand an employee. Thus, the effectiveness
of social media over traditional method is the fact that it provides a proper analysis of the job
seekers.
