An overview of the project idea
Now a days people are so much busy as they do not have time to meet face to face. In this time,
social media is playing an important role as it supports the people to connect with others and
sharing their knowledge. The present project is about uses of social media as a marketing
channel that has positive impacts on organization. The ideas comes in the mind of researcher to
use the marketing channel such as direct selling, dual distribution, selling through
intermediaries and others that helps to increase the sales of Marks and Spencer organization.
Project aims and objectives
Research Aim:
To acknowledge about social media and its uses in marketing channel that impacts on Marks
and Spencer”.
Research Objectives:
To know the conceptual framework of social media marketing.
What different marketing channel are using by Marks and Spencer to improve the
business performance.

Rationale statement
To prepare the project is needed for researcher as it increase the knowledge and skills of a
person by collecting information and preparing project. By using project, an individual develop
their understanding that how activities and organisational functions can be manage or increase
properly (Willumsen, Oehmen, Stingl and Geraldi, 2019).
Literature Review
What is the concept of social media marketing?
According to Patel (2020), Social media marketing is the main term for organisation as it uses

to share the information, knowledge, and skills that can help to increase the business sales. This
provides business industry a new way to reach new customers, engage with existing customers,
and promoting the desire culture by maintaining good relations.
What different channel of marketing are using by Marks and Spencer for improving business
performance?
In the business environment different channel of marketing are direct selling, websites, social
media, content marketing, and strategy which uses by companies to share the information and
reach the targeted customers. Marks and Spencer is using content, websites and social media
marketing for the purpose of introducing its new products and services that influences number
of customers and make buying decision. This helps to increase the sales and profitability by
increasing purchase as well as this supports to improve brand image.

The research have been used secondary data to continue this project in which it focused on
journals, books and online articles (Gratton and Gratton, 2020).

From the above discussion it has concluded that social media marketing is essential for all
