‘We care for you’
“Before you post…THINK- Is it True? Is it Hurtful? Is it Illegal? Is it Necessary? Is it Kind?”
We care is a non- profitable organization who aims to develop care and support for the disabled
person. Through this fortnightly newsletter we will contribute to effective internal
communication within the members of the organization. The internal members of the
organization include staff, volunteers and the Board of Directors. This occasional system of
communication has been a well appreciated initiative of the organization. It is presented with the
staff profiles, internal news and information of events and the scope of the staff to contribute.
The newsletter ‘we care for you’ is available and accessible on the staff intranet with the link
provided to the staff. In a recent meeting that we had organized for the staff members, one of our
employees had clicked and posted pictures on his personal face book profile including the names
of the members and the relevant stories. This had been a mistake on his part as he had posted the
pictures without the consent of the people. One of the caretakers of our organization was
disturbed after seeing a picture of her with the son along with some of her personal information
which was set in public mode.
We are bound by our social media guidelines which state that the person who is posting
pictures in the face book should be responsible for outlining the proper content of what he is
posting. It is strictly mentioned in our policy guideline that the staff should take interest in the
social media activities but only the members who have consent should be engaged in the online
activities of the organization. This is because only the experienced members will be aware of the
sensitivity attached to the social media activities and the related consequences in certain
circumstances. It was unethical on the part of the employee to not being aware of the social
media guidelines before using it. He had even mentioned the name of our organization ‘We care’

and when asked about it, denied the fact saying that he was unaware of it. Being an employee of
our organization, it is not acceptable that he will not abide by the rules and regulations that are
set for him. There is no biasness on the part of the management about any employee. If any
member of the organization is found guilty of violating any organizational law, he will have to
face penalty in cash or kind. The extent of the violation of the company policy might even let
him lose his job. As we are more concerned about our young caretakers, so these policy
guidelines are strictly followed. This is because the young caretakers seem to be very casual
about their lifestyle and they need to think before posting their personal life in front of the public.
We are not authorized to put an end to their online activities but not at the cost of our
organization or any member associated with ‘We care’.
