Introduction to Government
Social media is a good forum for the elected leaders. It is because it allows them to
contact the voters directly, make advertisement without payment, make campaign go viral,
fundraise, tailor messages to their followers, get feedback from voters, weigh public opinion and
effectives engage with the young voters ("Stateline." Pewtrusts.Org, 2017).
Some of the best practices for the elected leaders to use social media include:
Customizing reports that meet all the requirements of the targeted audience
Combining the report information with a clear storyline that provide guidance to the
readers in a coherent and instinctive manner.
Effective communication of the key messages that targets the interest of the audience.
Personalizing and illustrating the successful stories that strengthen key messages while
engaging the audience.
Taking advantage of the online abilities by simplifying online reports to make them easy
to read and navigate.

The posts of the leaders are consistent with what is on their official government pages.
The elected leaders also have personal responsibilities to the citizens and residents of the
America than to the average social media users. It is because most of the people using social are
the youth; hence, they may not be able to reach all the citizens. Other than that, if I would have
been the social media advisor, I would have advised the President to use social media to explain
his successful pledges. On the other hand I would have advised the Vice President to use the
social media to support the positive things that the president has done.
Consequently, what each leader should do to try and reach out beyond their base
supporters is to launch development projects that may help the public in those areas. On the other
hand, vice president should ensure the completion of such projects. They should make sure that
they provide security equally to every citizen and basic economic infrastructure. To distinguish
between fake and real news, one need to know who wrote the news, what the claim it makes,
when it was published, and how it makes the reader feel.
