INTRODUCTION
Social media is a trendy technology that can reflected as a computer based technology
which can facilitates the people to share their thoughts and feeling to the other person in all over
the world. This will develop the virtual networks so that a person can easily communicates the
design their communities. It is a technology that is based on the internet and provides the quick
communication related to the content. This report includes the negative and positive impact of
the social media on the students. At last offers the several recommendations that can reflect the
prominent roles of social media that can enhance the student career and become a world better.
This report is conducted by the UWTSD centre manager so that impact of social media can be
analyzed effectively(Barton and et. al., 2018).

Negative impact of social media on students
Social media have a millions of user where individuals can develop their networking
communications to the world. In social media mainly students can get highly involved to engage
with the communities. Now days students can highly rely on the information that can be travel
through the social media and learn and retain that from a longer period of time. In this students
can performed the multitasking where they can try to check the several information and also
spend too much time within this. This will reduce the overall academic performance and
impacted on their future. Some of the negative impact can be shown below:
 Anxiety – Because of social media students can highly focus on what other students are
to be doing right now and in this they can spend their most of the time. Due to this they
will become victims of the depression and anxiety which highly affect the thought
process. For Instance- If a college going student are highly focused on using the social
media and attracts what their classmates and friend are doing and to match them they can
do the same things which are wrong. It will affect their thought process and due to this
they can face high depression(Alt, 2018).

 Sleep Deprivation – One of the major negative impacts of the social media on the
students is the sleep deprivation. In this they can highly worried about the friends that
what they are posting and sharing the information. Due to this their academics are to be
reflected in major way. For instance- If a student can have a large number of group at that
time he/ she are always worried about what their friends are to be shared related to
her/him. It will reduce their academic skill and also reduce their sleeping which is more
important or fell active and focused within the studies.
 Poor concentration – It is one of the today negative impact of social media on the
students. In this several task of the students related to their school work, class work etc.
need high level of concentration and to deal effectively that have to do something
essential is to remove the habit of social media. It is so because of maintaining the high
concentration power on their academics which helps in developing their future, Including
highly in the social media can present the highly negative impact on their performance
and concentration power(Chugh and Ruhi, 2018).
 Decreased activities – It is the impact of using the social media account by the students.
Due to the enhance usage of the social media account students cannot focused on the
other activities which is beneficial for them to enhance their mental abilities, skills and
also the physical movement which is more prominent to get the high result in their career
path. Due to this students cannot focus von doing the exercise and because of this they
can face high depression. This will present the high depression within the student and
become a common issue in their body. This will also build the issue of lack of controlling
power related to the specific content. this will decreased the student accuracy within
writing and also negatively impact on their communication. Because using of social
media do not utilizing the proper grammar at the time of communicating the thoughts to
the other person(Pang, 2018).
Positive impact of social media on students
Social media is an effective term that is to be reflect in positive way for the students in
enhancing their career, growth and also their standard of living (Chugh and Ruhi, 2018) . Usage
of the social media affected the everyday lives of the students and generate high confidence in

them to attain the task in effective and efficient way. It includes the several positive impact that
can be shown by using the social media tool by the student below:
 Easier collaboration with social media- It is one of the positive impact of the social
media on the students is representing the high collaboration between the students. In
terms of education group projects are very trendy to enhance the knowledge of the
students in several aspects. In this social media tool is very prominent for providing the
convenience to the peoson in their academics with the usage of Google Docs to flow
board that cannot includes the high times and also the task can be completed effectively
and efficiently (Al-Azawei, 2019). For examples- During the major impact of COVID 19,
institution can highly focus on the group studies via the use of google meeting app,
Facebook, video chatting tools etc. so that communication can be done effectively that
will generate the collaboration skills within the students (Pang, 2018).
 Enhancing the academic performance- It is another positive impact of the social media
on student as it will maximize the students performance and knowledge which is very
essential in their academics. In this students can gather data and information effectively
and in less time (Hjorth and Hinton, 2019). For instance- If a students are indulge under
the some specific projects within their academics sessions for this they can go through the
several online platforms so that data can be taken for finding the solutions related to the
projects effectively (Chugh and Ruhi, 2018).
 A new way of networking- For students social media is very effective and impact
positively on their studies and their personal and professional life. Developing
networking is very prominent for developing the career in terms of future perspective.
With the help of this term students who are in college and do their higher studies create a
huge network in all over the world with the use of several application tools that are
Linked In that is effective for the students and also very convenient for them as it can be
done from home (Jasso-Medrano and Lopez-Rosales, 2018). For example- If a students
who wants to build the high network for developing their career in the professional term
then they can adopts the use of social media tools that are Facebook, Linked In so that
from home they can connect with the huge audience that can change the whole life of the

students by finding the new opportunities for internships and further jobs (Hashim, Al-
Sharqi and Kutbi, 2019).
 Social media is a term that will generate creativity- The positive impact of social
media on the students is increasing their creative skills that helps in learning the new
things and execute them with the same for gaining the high success in their academics
which is beneficial for their professional career in the future. For instance- Due to the
high usage of the social media tool students can engaged in the several creating tool and
this will develops the hobbies within the person that will generate more creative thoughts
and ideas which potentially helpful in developing and making the career (Al-Rahmi and
et. al., 2018) .
 Familiarity with technology- It is another positive impact of the social media on the
students as it helps the students to get highly familiar with the technology and how to use
tools related to the technologies. For instance- In terms of the modern world students are
highly focus on the use of technologies for gaming, creating new things, group
discussions etc. this will enhance the overall knowledge of the students related to the
usage of technology that is highly beneficial for them to sustain in the modern world and
develops their career (Roberson and et. al., 2018) .
Recommendations on how students can use the social media as a technological
tool for ensuring the better world
From the above analysis it is recommended that the students can use the social media
tools as a technological tool so that the world gets better. Many people are very obsessed with
the use of technologies and in this social media is very helpful for learning and collaborating. It
will improves the life of a students and boosting their academic performance (Arora and et. al.,
2019) . Social media is reflecting as a computer based technologies that is effective for sharing
ideas, thoughts, creating effective network and also the communities. Several recommendations
can be shown below:
 Makes learning easy and fun- It is to be recommended that the students can highly use
the social media as a technological tool to enhance their learning in fun and easy learning.

For instance- In this students can focus on using the technological tool i.e. You tube, Ted
talks and several other tools that helps the students to watch the interesting videos
anytime and as per their own convenience. Due to this learning of the students is to be
broader and effective. These social media tool is very useful to understand the topics and
procedures which is effective for absorbing the learning in an interesting manner
(Hossain and et. al., 2020) .
 Serves teamwork and networking tool- It is another recommendation for the students
related to using of the social media tool as a technological tool that will ensure in making
the world better. In this students can highly focus on the team work with their teachers,
classmates, peers which reflects the high power of the social media. In this students use
the mobile phones, and computers for using the social media tool. These application is
useful for discussing the projects, valuable ideas etc. that is effective in getting the
positive results in their invested field that helps in making the world better (Berryman,
Ferguson and Negy, 2018).
 Helps in finding the suitable career opportunities- It is another recommendation that is
to be helpful for the students. Social media tool is very prominent that is used by the
students as a technological tool for searching and finding the best career opportunities in
their related field. As this aspect offers the great opportunities related to creating network
in all over the world by their potential coworkers, future workers, recruiting agencies etc.
In this students can adopts the LinkedIn application to impress the company with their
inspiring profile. This tool is very intense to develops the chance of maximizing the
skills, creatively and communication so that their career can be boost in the chosen field
(Chang, Tu and Hajiyev, 2019) .
CONCLUSION
From the above report it is concluded that social media is a prominent term for the
students that can enhance the creativity level and the learning capacity of the students. This term
is very trending in current society environment for learning new things and adapting the changes
effectively and efficiently. It inculcates the negative and positive impact of the social media
media which helps in acknowledging the skills related to the social media term. This report

inculcates the negative impact on the students which causes distraction and health issues that is
not beneficial for the students but at the same time it impact positively in creating the network
and generating the high creativity so that it is beneficial for their personal and professional
development. At last it inculcates the recommendation that helps in developing the knowledge
related to social media for ensuring the better world.
