Social Media plays an important role in the modern day. The modern day business
houses has experienced a number of changes in its operations which has been an important
factor for the business organization. Tweeting inappropriate memes, instagramming
irrelevant pictures and facebooking different selfies or other kinds of information has
gradually turned out to be the new trends in the workplaces. The report here presents the
importance and non-importance of the use of social media in the workplace.
Background
Social media has become a part and parcel of most of the global population in the
modern days. Most of the people have totally or partially stopped any kind of face to face
communication and have totally turned into social animals where they communicate with
each other through different social networks like Facebook, twitter, Instagram and many
more as such. Social media are gradually taking an active role in the life of the modern
workers (Forsgren & Byström, 2018). The presence of social media in the life of the modern
day workers are thus getting an entry directly into the workplaces of the companies and
business enterprises. However, the use of the social media sites is not only limited to just
personal needs but have expanded in a comprehensive manner and are having a serious role

Therefore it can be said that social media itself has a large number of pros and cons which are
both helpful as well as problematic for the business organization.
