INTRODUCTION
Background of the study
Social pathology is a concept that is being developed into the contemporary modern
science in order to refer both the aspects of social framework along with the behaviours and
values attributed to specific social categories. This basically adopts to assess crimes and
problems origin from specific age, criminal history and values (Pour and Behnampour, 2022).
The appearance of social pathologies in the closest atmosphere of a person has an undeniable
impact over their functioning and for this reason, the research chooses selected social
pathologies such as crime, drug abuse among youth, alcoholism and social alienation. This
report is helping in analysing the problem situation and referring to the research objective.
Aim and Objectives

The aim behind conducting this research is to identify the social pathologies within
teenagers.

On the basis of above aim certain objectives has been prepared:

Research Questions
In order to analyse the problem situation and referring to the research objectives the main
study question that is being presented in the form of research question include how significant is
evaluating as well as addressing the social pathologies among teenagers.

Rationale of the study
The topic i.e. the analysis of the social pathologies among teenagers is important to study
as it provide appropriate guidelines and assistance to address those social pathologies in order to
shape the community resilience at the local level of United Kingdom. This issue is essential to
study as any type of deviation from the permissible acts in any society is an abnormal behaviour
and requires appropriate study in order to resolve them on priority basis. Thus, in order to get
control over such things the study helps to put various strategies in order to resolve such
challenges (Oosterhoff and Palmer, 2020). From the point of view of taking this topic into
consideration, the report emphasize over the identification of pathological phenomenon along
with development of actions which aimed to be preventing their occurrence in society of UK
where teenagers are presented.

Data collection is basically the procedure of measuring, assembling and evaluating the
appropriate data in order to do research with the help of utilizing efficient techniques. The data
has been generally collected with the help of two sources such as Primary and Secondary. For
this current study, secondary sources of data collection method have been used. Secondary data
collection refers to collection of data by investigating over other researchers’ study to evaluate
the topic effectively.

In order to evaluate the social pathologies among teenagers, the geography location that
is being considered is the United Kingdom (Belsky and et.al., 2019). As per the evaluation of
social pathologies, it has been decided by the scholar that their identification begins with the
diagnosis of issues faced by the teenagers of UK which in turn create the foundation for the
emergence of such pathologies.
In order to justify the aspects of ethical consideration, the list of references has been
added at the end of the research report which in turn highly able to provide detailed evaluation
about the topic that the content has not being copied from somewhere else the safety measures
also have been considered (Matsui and et.al., 2021). With the help of implementing ethical

Theme 1: Concept of social pathologies among teenagers
According to the Lykken, (2018), social pathology is the kind of be behaviour, type of
institution, overall functioning of social system or a type of subculture which exists into
fundamental with worldwide values that has been accepted in each community or area. One
more definition of this concept illustrates that it is the type of phenomenon of social behaviour
of teenagers or group of people that conflicts with the set values and principles that are highly
acceptable by a given society. At the same time Gazo and et.al., (2020) defines social

deterioration of well-being, and material losses that has been occurred due to violation of ethical

In context of elaborating over the various social issues that has been faced by the
teenagers, it has been identified by Chahine and et.al., (2020) that suicide, crime, alcoholism,
drug abuse etc. are the major issues that requires pathology in order to resolve them on priority.
On the other hand, Course-Choi and Hammond, (2021) highlights that social pathologies are a
negative phenomenon which affects both the individuals as well as the community under which
an individual functions. They highly have the power to affect the balance in each community
and violate generally accepted social standards. As per the social pathology for alcoholism it has
been treated into exceptional manner because it is a case of tolerated toxicomania. Moreover, it
is a type of defective pattern of behaviour and which causes psychological and social damages.
Theme 3: Factors and strategies that affects the cause of social problems among teenagers in
United Kingdom
Alcântara and et.al., (2019) illustrates about the factors that cause social pathology issues
among teenagers are due to cultural, demographic and individual factors which are based upon
the psychological and physiological. Moreover, it also affects the crime rates as well. The types
of crimes that has been dealt with are the type of crimes such as crime against person, crimes of
violence, work related crimes, etc. Moreover, it also further includes certain criminal behaviour
among teenagers which are not involved in punishments by criminal law such as smoking,
drinking alcohol, indecent behaviour, etc. Hence, the society have to take certain strategies in
order to resolve such things which includes taking preventive measures in order to reduce the
adverse effects of their occurrence.

From the above represented detailed evaluation it has been interpreted that the problems
which required social pathology in order to resolve them are at their peak and requires urgent

attention from the concerned authorities. The concept of social pathology is highly wide in
nature and in order to complete this report, the scholar utilized and take certain social
pathologies which are related to alcoholism, drug abuse among youth, crime and social
alienation among teenagers (DeFronzo and Gill, 2019). Moreover, the study elaborate the scope
of criminology which is quite wide and large which has been related to all types of social classes
as well as structures. From the study, it has been analysed and suggested that enhancement in
interaction level will help to reduce such things among teenagers as it enhances the civic
activities along with trust among them towards each other. The activities which helps to promote
social initiatives support the society to increase the safety of local communities in general
context and also have the power to eliminate crime as most of the places involved into
monitoring places. Moreover, stop alcohol consumption initiatives in the form of generating
programs within schools also assist teenagers to stop such type of behaviour. Apart from this, it
will also improve the communication of information which automatically influence the
distribution of resources which also increase the abilities to cooperate with others. Thus, with the
help of appropriate strategies which has been formulated especially in order to resolve such
drastic issues faced by teenagers of UK which are comes under the consideration of social
pathologies, the issues have been resolved at utmost priority level (Peris and et.al., 2020).
Moreover, it has also been evaluated that social problems are the indispensable part of
the communities which includes specifically the teenagers because they are the new generation
who highly affected by various economic, social, psychological, and cultural factors. In order to
eliminate social issues faced by teenagers which requires social pathologies can be resolved by
adopting a document which has been prepared on the basis of strategy of social integration and
resolving social issues that was created due to avoidance of societal aspects (Acuff and et.al.,
2018). Although, the research also indicates that resolving such social issues which includes
alcoholism, crime, drug abuse, etc. from teenagers is a long term and challenging process which
requires appropriate procedure to handle them.
CONCLUSION
From the detailed analysis it has been concluded that the project is aimed to answer the
research issue which has been related to the evaluation of social pathologies among teenagers of
UK. The problem formulated in the research question which is based upon “how important is

identification as well as addressing the social pathologies among teenagers”. From previous
studies that has been integrated within this research, it has been identified that alcoholism and
crime are the major issues in their broadcast sense that has been faced by the teenagers among
the UK. Thus, it requires social alienation as a phenomenon that helps them to resolve their
issues and majorly assist them to deal with them. In context of strategies, that needs to be
adopted by society to resolve such drastic issues, special preventive programs needs to be run
among the schools which automatically generates preventive measures towards the occurrence
of such social pathologies. Moreover, it has also been identified that wide scale activities also
have been undertaken by the communities of UK which includes launching preventive actions,
information campaigns and cooperation from varied institutions that deal appropriately with the
analysed social pathologies. Moreover, it has also been evaluated that the foundation for
minimizing pathological phenomenon among the society is appropriate education along with
transfer of knowledge that makes the teenagers to become responsible and aware about the false
practices done by them which requires social pathology in order to mitigate them.
