Presenting issues
Bonnie has social phobia and she used to become nervous when appearing in public. She has very limited
friend circle and often fears a lot when facing people. Though she was trying to recover and cope up with
her fear but recently her mother became ill. As a result of this entire responsibility of taking care of home
and siblings come over her. She is having even food shortage which is making her situation worsen.

With situation when Bonnie has to interact with people or take actions she gets panic attack, dizziness and
sweating. She needs support but she does not have enough courage to ask for help due to her fear. The
bullying in school as well as illness of her mother and unavailability of father in the town is making her more
confront to her fear.
Strategies/Interventions to be used
Bonnie must be make understood that she can manage the situation but she must try to remain calm. In
cases when she faces any panic attack she must discuss the issue with the teachers or other school
members. With greater interaction she will be able to cope up with her fear. For financial assistance she
can ask her father and can even search for some part time work.
Action to be taken
The clinical counselling must be scheduled properly and regularly for her. Her family members must also
assured that they provide at least emotional support. The teachers of Bonnie must also be involved so that
they can help her to overcome the bullying issues at school. The school must also be requested from the
social supporters so that they can give extra time to her for paying fees. It will reduce the anxiety of Bonnie.
