TIMES IN BRITAIN
A welfare system is defined as an assistance which is given by government of country to
fulfil the needs of any individual. Amount given in welfare system differs according to the state
and country (Bradshaw, 2016). In the present scenario, welfare system in Britain has been
changed drastically. Attitude of British people has changed towards the welfare system.
Spending of government on poor section of society has declined in the past decades. Public of
the country thinks that benefits which should be provided to jobless women are enough for their
livelihoods.
People also describe that they should be given with enough amount of welfare to live.
56% of public thinks that the welfare amount given to unemployed people is not enough to
survive and living a standard life (Yeates, 2014). Other people think that the benefit given to any
unemployed person is more than enough to survive. Labour community of the country has found
that employment given to them by government is sometimes at risk. . At the time of recession,
employment of labour is at risk. However, public is liking the welfare given to disabled people.
Government of country is giving benefits to disabled people by giving pensions and extra
spending. Support for health and education has been improved in the previous decades. Public of
nation is getting benefits from social advantages given by the government. 13% of people think
that benefits for jobless people should be given with more priority.
2. ASSESSMENT OF IMPACT OF WELFARE STATE
Welfare assessment is essential to identify the impact of benefit given by government.
There are various approaches to assess the impact of welfare state. Following are the approaches
of assessing welfare state: Survey method: To assess the impact of welfare policy on public, a survey method can be
used in which questions can be asked to people. In survey, benefits of welfare system
should be asked to people living in the nation (Yeates, ed., 2014). Individuals can be
asked to rate how welfare policy has helped them in their livelihood. Response of
individuals on benefits given by the government of UK could be asked. Questionnaire
should be made in which different questions should be asked to public about the impact
of welfare on their lifestyle. Interview of each person who is getting benefits from

welfare system should be used to assess the affects of benefits. Question can be asked
either online or offline to find out the impacts of welfare system on families and
unemployed people. Written reflection: In this technique, people can be asked about their experiences about
welfare benefits in written form. Under the same, questions could be asked like what is
the most important benefit they have got from the welfare policy. In written reflection
method people can write their grievances in welfare benefits. Interviews: Interviews constitute numerous open ended queries that can be used to find
out the impact of welfare system. Face to face interviews can be done with each
individual involved in welfare system. It can conducted with 4 to 5 number of people to
find out pros and cons of welfare states. .
 Observation: In this method, proper observation should be done on people who are
provided welfare by state. From observation, it will become easy to find out the
experiences of individuals and impact of welfare policy.
3. Social policy made in Britain made by national government of London
Yes, social policy made in Britain is made by national government of London. This plan
of action describes about the condition of social services and system of welfare (Kawalerowicz
and Biggs, 2015). It is also called as the policy of social welfare system. It gives relationship of
social welfare with political conditions. This considers the issue of welfare system and problems
with social services. Also, it involves policies made for income and health of people in the
country.
The social policy is made in country to a provide welfare benefits to individual living in
nations. The policy made by government is to analyse education system in the region. It also
includes changes in the latest plan of action. This policy is used by government to assess the
problem which is affecting services of public. It involves poverty and health plans made by
government to support individual.. Issues like family policy and disability are included in the
social policy. Welfare delivery and access to welfare are also analysed in this plan.
4. Public social expenditure in Britain
Public social expenditure is termed as spending of government on public sector for the
activities performed by it. The public social expenditure has been developed to provide help to
