INTRODUCTION
Social policy is a term which is applied in government and political sector. It defines
policies used by the government authorities for social protection and welfare. Basically social
policies are concerned with welfare services in order to develop the economy of country. It is the
combination of sociology, politics and economics. Social policy describes a way and learn
creative thinking regarding the problems (Spicker, 2014). There are several issues in social
policy like poverty reduction, social security, unemployment insurance, living conditions, child
protection, education policy, social housing, social care and many more issues. In this report,
about the major current issues in social policy i.e. unemployment, child protection and racism
will be discussed. These put a huge impact on the economic condition of nation.
Unemployment: This issue is widely increase in every countries which also affect in the growth
of the economic. It define the those people who are not able to get job in every organization.
Unemployment decrease financial fund because employment in the countries is very important
which give tax to develop the economic (Schneider, Kallis & Martinez-Alier, 2010). But in this
issue country pay lots of fund to reduce this issue. In an economic high unemployment, they are
not use economic resources in effective manner. Advance technology is a big cause of high
unemployment in every countries.
Unemployment Act: This legislation of unemployment is adopted by the government to reduce
unemployment in country. Because of this issue, reduces their GDP rate and their standard of
living is also reduce in the country. They include demand side policies in order to reduce
unemployment (Introduction to Current Issues in Social Policy: Healthcare, Housing, Welfare,
and Social Security, 2016). There are several policies which assist in reducing the unemployment
rate like monetary and fiscal policy as well as education and training will also reduce the
structure of this issue. Thesepolicies increase the growth rate in the economic which helps in
boost up the GDP rate in the country and aggregate demand of the particular state. Government
includes unemployment act 1934 in which they provide job opportunities to the people in order
to reduce their issue in the country.
Child protection: From violence, abuse and exploitation, government protect children (Murray,
2015). To protect child protection government take effective and best steps to protect from the
abuse. Government authority and local authority make a plan to solve this problem. They
research about the family background of child and do investigation so that this issue can be

resolved. If government provides educational facilities to childern which contribute in economic
growth (Thoits, 2011). It may help in taking effective process to increase their labour force in
order to increase GDP rate of country which assist in development of the economic growth and
also improve children skills in educational sector.
Child protection legislation: It is regulated by the government. It design by this authority to
protect children from abouse . They make effective system to maintain the children security.
They made rules and regulation which are like education programs, child welfare, etc. They fulfil
their requirements and expectations regarding education and employment which assist in
increasing the growth of country.
Racism: This issue defines different abilities and characteristics of human beings. In this
situation, someone is treated different from others because of race of culture. In country this
situation is widely increased which affect the economic growth (Horowitz, 2010). When colour
race of belief of a person affect the behaviour done with him then it is called racism. In situations
when individual change he or her behaviour on the basis of various factors related with an
individual that it is known as racism. It affects the social economy of nation. For example: if
manager of a firm does discrimination and provide growth opportunities to only his favourite one
than other people will fail to get the change of growth. Government includes legislation to
resolve this issue in social economy that assist in the development and growth of every person
who is talented and get best success in their life.
The Race relation Act 1965: It was the firstly issue by the UK government to define racial
discrimination. It include colour, race and national origins in the public places. This act promotes
effective ways to resolve this issue and assist in increasing the growth of economy. In this
situation, Equality act 2010 is also defined by the government authorities to protect every person
from discrimination in the organization as well as at the workplace (Carroll & Shabana, 2010). It
may provide effective solution to overcome this situation and make positive environment at
workplace which will assist in economy also because it will increase equality so that every
people get best opportunities to show their talent.
RECOMANDATION
To resolve these issues for economy, that government should define the overall issues
those are crate in the counties which reduce the GDP rate and also affect the peoples life. They
should do research to overcome by the social issues and the select the best alternative to resole

the problems. For eliminating issues like are racism, discrimination should be deleted form
workplace and encouragement should be done by government for providing proper and equal
growth opportunities to individuals from different religions or colour (Alesina & Ardagna,
2010). For protecting the rights of children protraction on child labour acts should be given by
government.
CONCLUSION
In the above mentioned report, it can be concluded that social policy defines a systematic
process which used by the government to solve economic problems in an effective manner. In
every country, many issues are faced by government which affect the economic growth of
nation. In this report, unemployment, child protection and racism are discussed that negatively
affect the economic growth. Unemployed legislation can be reduce this issue in effective manner
so that every people can get reliable job in organization. These issues are faced by government
authorities which define the best possible way to reduce them in country. It has been assessed
that better rules and regulations assist in increasing the living standard of public and local people
in order to attain best result by them.
