The aim of the paper is produce a reflection of the one of the burning issues of social and
political significance. The issues that would be concern of the paper is the imbedded in the
long debate at the level of the legal as well as government level policy making to consider
whether adoption rights should be made accessible to the same sex couples.
In a news article by the New York Times anticipated that in a verdict by the Supreme
court, the court might possibly exclude an adoption agency deep rooted in the catholic belief
as they refused to provide the gay couples with the facilities of adopting children. The policy
of the organization had been staunchly against assisting the couples from LGBTQ community
against ensuring adoption. In the opinion of a lawyer associated with the case, Leslie Cooper
had suggested that the verdict of court was likely to affect a considerable number of members
from LGBTQ community (nytimes.com).
However, the case considered has a greater significance for the society as the it is
most likely to affect the life of the more than about 400000 children who have been under the
foster care. The opinion was voiced in favor of the community on the note that religious
believes in the way of the fostering of children has no connection with the sexual orientation
of the parents who are adopting them. As such, it has been experienced that the religious
beliefs have worsened the situation with its irrational approach towards it.
I would like to voice my opinion in favor of the LGBTQ community, as the service
denied to them has been a denial of the human fundamental human rights. As per the
proposition of the legal experts, it has been suggested that the case had exhibited the clash
between the principle of anti-discrimination and claims that has been made towards the
conscience. The negligence of the basic human rights have been deep rooted the hetero
patriarchal outlook that suggested alternative sexuality goes against the codes of nature and
therefore needs to be looked down upon. The organization with a view of sin towards the

situation had taken up a discriminatory principle in order to safe guard their religious outlook.
As such, the organization had assigned its priority on the bias of religious belief it exihibits
the degrading nature of the contemporary society.
In my opinion, human should be valued by the virtue of their birth. In this
considering, there should not be any kind of discriminatory factors that inhibits such values.
Considering the history of oppression and discrimination the people from LGBTQ
community went through because of their alternative gender and sexual expression it needs to
realized that in the contemporary modernized world the concern should be towards ascribing
them with their rights that has been long due.
The article by the Christian Science Monitor, the suggestion is that the common
concern should be with ascribing a common good to the children (Bruinius). In this case, it
needs to be understood that the contemporary situation has instigated the social changes in
order to bring the people from LGBTQ community within the common space of mainstream
living. The consideration should be with the aspect that should be prioritized in the respect.
As such, it is imperative that the conventional idea regarding the institution of marriage and
the reproduction should be changed. With the legalization of the same sex marriage in the
US, the rights of the LGBTQ community had experienced a constitutional right. However,
the considerable clashes that came in the way of achieving it included the clashes between the
ideologies of the religious freedom and the voice for ascribing equal rights to the people of
the LGBTQ community. Having friends in my educational and social sphere, I am aware of
the desperation and the anticipation that the members of the community go through in
accessing basic human rights. Thus, it is of crucial importance in the social as well as in the
level of legislation, communication should be initiated in order to make the law and order
much more exclusive in its approach so that it can assure the accessibility of the people from
LGBTQ community to the rights that they deserve.
