How does Klein explain the opposition to climate change?
Climate changes refer to the changes in the statistical distribution of the weather patterns
that are observed when there is a change that lasts over a longer period of time. The following
essay deals with the explanation that was provided by Naomi Klein in the matters that pertained
to the opposition to the climate changes.
Chivers (2011) in his book entitled ‘The no-nonsense guide to climate change: The
science, the solutions, the way forward’ argues that the changes in the climate might be
measured in the light of the various matters that pertain to the reasons behind the changes in the
climate. The author tends to argue that there has been an immense increase in the emissions of
the various greenhouse gases in the recent years. The huge amount of the emissions of the
greenhouse gases have led to the increase of the temperature of the planet. The rise of the
temperature of the planet has in turn led to the conditions that pertain to the changes in the
climatic conditions. The author further proceeds to discuss the major greenhouse gases that have
been affecting the climatic changes of the planet through the increase of the temperature. The
author further discusses that the fact the temperatures of the earth have been increasing at an
alarming rate and the changes in the changes in the temperatures have been quite evident in the
recent years. The author states that these matters pertaining to the changes in the climate should
be treated with a high priority in order to avoid the upsetting of the balance of the earth.
Klein (2015) in her book entitled ‘This changes everything: Capitalism vs. the climate’
discusses the ill effects of the increase in the temperature of the earth. The journalist tends to
focus on the areas that have been affected majorly by the changes in the climate. The book by the
eminent author opens with the discussion on the problems that were faced by the airport facilities
as well as the passengers due to the fact that the plane that was about to take off had sunk four

inches into the ground. The author argues that the passengers had continued with the flight
despite the concern and neither was the incident reported. Klein (2011) in her article entitled
‘Capitalism vs. the Climate’ puts forth the fact that the government of the majorly affected
countries might be advised to plan the various activities that are related to the lowering of the
atmospheric temperature that has increased at an alarming rate. The eminent journalist had
further commented on the fact that the residents of the planet must unite in order to bring about a
lowering of the atmospheric temperature of the planet so as to prevent the destruction of the
balance in the temperature of the Earth (Rabble.ca., 2018).
Thus, from the above discussion it might be pointed out that the journalist had been
advocating in the favor of lowering the temperature of the earth in order to maintain the
sustainability of the planet.
