Assessment of the case and rationale for social work services
In assessing the case, there is a mother who lives with HIV virus and failure to take precautions
when expectant, she ends up giving birth to a child who is also HIV positive. She takes the child
to a social work organization to be taken care of. Rationale: The social work service is all about
helping the individuals who are in need. Every human being on earth deserves someone with a
good heart who is ready to help them when they are in need. They need people who are ready to
fight for them and help them exercise their rights. Therefore, the social workers’ organizations
are ready to play that role and they fill the gap for the people who are in need. Some common
changes require collaboration and teamwork between individuals or community levels, (Strier &
Binyamin, 2019).
The social work is a growing field. Jobs with the social working environment increases at a
high rate annually more than it was before. Many communities and associations understand the
need for social working hence these communities and organizations understand the need for
social working hence they grow and expand gradually. In such organizations, the social workers
are advanced in their careers through undergoing higher education and higher trainings, (Popple,
2013).
List of goals of social work services
The social workers always have a list of goals that they need to achieve within the society for
the needy people.
1. One of their goal is that they need to give directions to the people to be able to
recognize the professionals from the social work department so that they are able to
act in a manner that is required for instance the mother of the young boy. This makes

the people to be able to respect the professional roles and the needy, (Garland, 2013).
This gives them the ability to correct themselves when they make mistakes in the
society.
2. The social work services have a goal to train people to be able to reason so that at
times they can assist in making decisions through communications to the professionals
for instance the mother of the young boy needed to be trained to be able to make wise
decision decisions.
3. The social work services have a goal to make the people aware of the existing
principles so that they can apply them. In applying the principles, the mother of the
young boy could be able to improve her abilities to reason so as to achieve a principle
decision, (Popple, 2013).

The goals of the client based on the information provided is to be able to get accessed to an
environment that is free from stigmatization so that he may not lose the self-esteem. The young
boy also has a goal to be able to grow to become a better person in life so as to approve to other
people that HIV AIDS does not limit anyone from being successful in life. The boy has a goal to
learn the principles of the social work services to assist him in making principled decisions even
if other students look down upon him.
Intervention strategies that can help Edwards situation
Edward in his situation needs intervention strategies to assist him during his stay at the child
care services.

1. Edward needs to be protected from school-based sexual abuse. This is an intervention
to protect people from any abuse in their environments. For instance, in his school, the
other pupils always look down upon him and expose him and are not able to assist him
even when he is injured.
2. Edward also needs the child defense services and inquiries from work. This
intervention assists in defending clients from any harm that might get them. This
would assist Edward in protecting him from mistreatments and any other alarming
issues.
3. Edward also needs the concentrated family conservation services that ensures the
children are not taken away from their parents eternally. This intervention protects
Edward from the chances of being separated from his family members, (Soydan,
2013).
Intervention outcomes from the client
The client after undergoing the above interventions, he should feel secure from the school-
based abuses that he might come across either from his fellow pupils or other people within then
the school. The client should also feel comfortable because he will not be totally separated from
his parents. The client will also be defended from any harm that he might come across, (Zeira,
2013).

Below is a clear follow up plan that is provided by the social work theories. The first one is
scheduling. This is done to arrange the activities within the social work organization on how the

Compliant actual case plan for a mother who is an enrolled tribal member: The mother was to
cooperate with the social work services and attend to referrals by visiting the therapists and
psychologists.
Compliant case plan for father: The father was to contact the social worker’s professionals to
be trained on the principles for social work services.
Compliant case plan for a child who has no parents: The child is to be directed to meet the
social work professionals so as to receive admission to the institution.
In the case management process, I would ensure that I get in touch with the social work
professionals after which I would enquire about the admission process to the organization and
also about the terms and principles of the social work services. The next step is that I would take
my client to the institution to be admitted whereby I will explain his situation to the caregivers so
that they get to understand him better. I would check around the institution to ensure that they
have all that is required to take care of their clients.
