The authors penned this book, when there was only four schools of social work in
Australia, and there were only 1000 members in those schools. Later in the year 1968, it
magnified into 1,158, resulting in development of the profession as Governments were taking
initiatives in making the social work more effective allowing indigenous people to participate as
well. The article constitute of three attributes, firstly, the way social work training bodies were
established, secondly, analyzing the effective educational processes to social workers in
providing them employment. The third attribute that will be analyzed is the gradual development
of the social work profession and the increment in social work related programs, and
associations. The development of associations has been counted from the period of World war,
development of this kind of associations will be analyzed in this article in contrary to changes
seen in post war, pre-war situations, as each time periodic has its own influences on the
profession.
The author has well defined that concept of social work by saying that social work can
be done in many spheres and its depends on the perspective of a person. Social work can be done
by helping individual or family members, helping any other group of people who are facing any
physical, mental or social issues. Some social workers feel compelled to join certain
organizations that help people at tike of cruse, like earthquake, famine, flood, breakout of any
epidemic disease. The first main attribute, which the author has highlighted, is that the necessity
of institutions for the people of Australia who takes social work seriously and thrives to make it a
profession. The author that is “training bodies” and “professional associations” has highlighted
the necessity of mainly two kinds of institutions. Training body will help in providing the

techniques, procedures, theory, ethical consideration that the professional social worker should
adhere to while working in any organization and contributing in social work. In case of the
professional associations they watch over the social issues that is happening in the world, and
hire professional social workers to implement the theories and techniques to handle critical
situations.
There has been serious issues in Australian Training bodies, Workers Association, the
connection between them was not so integrated, and negligence was seen mostly in case of
public hospitals. The degrading social conditions of indigenous people suffering from
colonization from the British World degraded their health decreasing their life expectancy from
the non-indigenous people. In this article, the author has proclaimed that there were lack of
change in social work and its profession and even Government were reluctant in making any
changes in the forthcoming future. In 1976, the author initiated in writing an introduction to the
14th National Conference of the AASW (Australian Association of Social Workers), that created
history in social worker profession in Australia. The author said that he was considered as a
greatest and foremost contribution to social worker profession.

This article was written considering the regulations that surrounded the profession of
social workers in England; the “Professional Standard Authority” commissioned this review. The
whole review has been done based on the role of social workers and the issues they are facing in

their profession. The findings included systematic searching by collecting numerous
bibliographic data’s and searched various websites, searching valid sources which support the
work of social workers and gives an light on the issues they have been facing practicing their
work. The main debate in the article, which is seen between the authors about finding the
balancing factor that should be kept in case of social workers activities, as there has been
evidence that increased social work, has given social workers burnout, especially in case of
social workers who are caring for aged people and children. The England social care workers go
through constant changes in their work responsibilities resulting in stress and burnout, and their
increased hour of services results negligence of the patients as well. The methods used in this
journal article is the scoping methodology, that includes searching of materials that must be
included in this review to make understanding about the pressing issues related to stress and
burnout among social workers and care givers. Scoping methodology needs to be catered by
following the process of systematic mapping of data and concepts. The resulting outcomes put
forward various data’s and statistics that can be related to the present scenario, where social
workers are facing tremendous issues.
It has been observed that near-about 91, 000 workers, are registered under “Health and
Care Professional Council (HCPC)”, which makes it the largest influential organizations
supporting the services of social workers. In the 19th century history of social care workers, it
has been estimated that United Kingdom aimed in improvising the quality of people who were
vastly affected by the social and cultural changes by rapid industrialization, and there were lack
of professional social workers. As people coming forward to help them would fall into trouble
themselves or could not afford to care for them as they were not accustomed or learned with the
theories, concepts and techniques to handle such situations. As it was observed that the necessity

for professional social workers is necessary, to handle this kind of situations, in the 21st century
the profession was made official and regulated. In the 21st century, by the year 2014, 630, 000
nurses were registered under Nursing and Midwifery Council. The compulsory registration of
people wishing to thrive a career as a social worker, in England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and
Wales started in the year 2003 under the General Social Care Council. Therefore, it can be said

This journal has exemplified the need of rhetorical commitment towards making more
equitable policies that can be implemented in case of social workers or caregivers. The
exploration of the article leads to the understanding of history related to the action taken for
social care workers by the “Victoria State Branch of Australian Association of Social Workers”.,
The authors of the articles debate in relation to the policy interventions done by the
organizations. It was founded that policy interventions have affected hugely in case of adequate
skill acquiring of social care workers, less provisions of resources as well as education of
techniques and policies that must be followed in case of handling situations of crises.
This also included the reference of AASW (Australian Association of Social Workers) in
relation to making relevant policies that will serve in the betterment of social care workers
