The episode one of Netflix series “Sense 8 “ portrays the different cultures of eight
sensate living in different parts of the world, the sensate come into existence when angelica dies
out of sheer pain by killing herself with the revolver( Straczynski, 2015). The primary
composition of the main characters in the series is:
Will Gorski: an American police cop, who is being depicted as the passionate and helpful police
officer.
Riley Blue: a drug addicted DJ from London who has a good hand at music.
Lito Rodriguez: a Mexican actor who is a committed boyfriend of his lover.
Sun Bak: a strong headed Korean business woman with a positive temperament.
Kala Dandekar: a pharmacist from India who shares a lovely bond with her father.
Wolfgang Bogdanov: a German blacksmith and a yeggman, who suffers from bouts of
depression.
Capheus Onyango: a bus driver from Kenyan in Nairobi who is an obedient son of his mother.
Nomi Marks: a trans- woman, a political hacker and an American blogger who loves her
girlfriend Amanita ( Straczynski, 2015).
The groups they represent are of eight sensate belonging from different cultures, which
are psychologically connected with each other. Every character is representative of a different
race and nationality. As will is an American police officer while riley blue is a white from
Iceland, kala is an Indian pharmacist while sun bak a Korean business woman. Lito is a Mexican
actor while capheus is a black from kenya and nomi marks, a trans-woman from San Francisco
while wolfgang is a safecracker from Germany.
The latent social message about a group to the society is maintaining the composure, in
the times, when one gets hardly hit by someone’s criticism, rather than acting instantly, one
should show them with their achievements in future which was depicted in the scene where a
Korean business woman who met Mr. yen for the purpose of closing the business deal, was

confronted with the sexist remark that women are not for closing things but for opening them.
The woman did not lose the cool rather maintained her warm gesture (Fandom, 2015).
The social implication of the message would be that sun bak who is a strong headed
business woman will reply to Mr.yen intelligently through her positive actions and will show
him that women are meant for great things, from her achievements in future.
