THE ROLE OF GENDER
The mainstreaming of the gender forum ensures that the making of the policies and the
works of the legislations possess higher form of quality and have greater form of relevance in the
society (Alston, 2014). This is because it creates policies that respond very effectively to fulfil
the needs of all the citizens that may include both men and women. The gender mainstreaming is
made on the public form of the interventions that are effective and omits the inequalities that are
not perpetuated. The main aim of the gender mainstreaming is not only to avoid the creation of
the reinforcement of the inequalities that can affect both the gender, but it also aims to analyse
the existing situations that have the purpose to identify the inequalities and develop certain form
of policies that aims to address the inequalities and the mechanisms that have caused them.
There are various principles that are true for every gender that have the mainstreaming
activities that have the measures for implementation (Davids, Driel & Parren, 2014). The first
principle is known as the principle of gender sensitivity language. It refers to both men and
women and they take both the gender as equals. This approach has been applied among all the
forms, telephone directories, documents, media, internet, advertisement posters folders and films.
There has been accurate attention that has been paid to the choice of image that is sensitive to the
gender while preparing the materials for public relation.
The second principle is about the data collection and the analysis that are specific to the
gender of the individuals. This principle tells us about the various ways of the collecting and
analyzing the data that are presented by the gender. This also emphasizes on the statistics that
have their emphasis on the gender (Davids, Driel & Parren, 2014).

THE ROLE OF GENDER
The third principle enumerates the equal form of access and the utilization of the services. It
becomes very important that who have chosen the services and who are the clients. The target
groups should be mentioned and what are forms of problems that are faced by the target groups.
The fourth principle says that women and men both are equal and they both gets involved in the
process of decision-making. This phenomenon is highly important for appointing the groups who
are working in the project teams, advertising, commissions, media etc (Davids, Driel & Parren,
2014).
The last principle explains the treatments that are integrated in the process of steering. There
should be attention that are to given to both the gender for the enhancement of both the gender.
The forum gives various principles on the gender mainstreaming and the gender equity.
However, I feel that in the above case study the sportsperson was only analyzed as a
sportsperson immaterial to his/her gender. Therefore, it is very evident that in multinational
companies they have several problems for hiring women managers or pregnant women. The
capacities of the women are most of the times analyzed by her gender and not by her talents. In
any sphere of job there is some sort of barrier regarding gender of the women. However, in my
opinion, when the world will start to see the employee or any person by their talents and skills
and not by their gender, only then, the equity of gender will prevail.
