and the various ways in which the they are asking for the removal of the social problems
itself. One such social and economic problem that is present in the world in the current times
is the problem of unemployment. It is a serious problem which can also be counted as part of
the economic problem. The essay will discuss the impacts of unemployment in the world
itself.
The purpose of this essay is to discuss the problems of unemployment as a social
problem and how such unemployment impacts the personal lives of the individuals
themselves in the society.
Before discussing the concept of why unemployment is considered to be a social
problem by many individuals of the society itself, it is first important to know what
unemployment really is and how such unemployment impacts the lives of the individuals,
both on a collective as well as on the individual level itself. Unemployment is defined to be
the situation of joblessness, in which it is common that the people who are able to work and
are looking for a job are not able to get a job for themselves (Baker et. all, 2015).

2SOCIOLOGICAL IMAGINATION
In the modern world, itself, unemployment is a big social problem for the people of
the society to be concerned about. The fact that unemployment is a social problem is proved
by the fact that a large number of the population of the world is facing the problems of
unemployment in the current situation itself.
Some experts are of the opinion that it is first important for the readers to understand
the causes of the unemployment in the society itself before discussing the impacts of
unemployment on the individuals themselves (Baker, 2017).
Experts are of the opinion that there are several different causes for the
unemployment of the individuals themselves in the society itself. These reasons prove to be
one of the major reasons for the unemployment in the society itself. The first main cause of
unemployment is frictional unemployment, which is caused mainly due to the changing of the
jobs by the individuals in the society itself.
The other main causes of the unemployment are structural unemployment, which
might be caused by the individuals suffering from the problems of geographic or
occupational problems in the job sector itself. Other secondary causes of unemployment
classical or real wage unemployment, which takes place when the wage in the market itself is
above that of the equilibrium itself (Caliendo, 2015).
All these forms the various reasons for so many people in the world facing the
problems of unemployment in the current situation in the world itself.

3SOCIOLOGICAL IMAGINATION
The problems of unemployment are said to have very serious impacts in the world and
in the markets of the countries in the present scenario itself. The impact of the unemployment
can be seen from two different perspectives. First is the impact of the unemployment on the
society itself. The main impact on the society might be economic but these can also lead to an
individual resorting to the criminal activities itself.
The main reason for this is the lack of money in the family makes them desperate for
finding means to earn money in some way or the other. Thus, it makes them switch to the
criminal activities in order to provide bread to the family itself. Other reasons why the
unemployment in the society is a problem in itself is that the unemployment hurts the
economy of the country itself. It is because of the low economy of the countries itself that the
companies are not able to hire many employees into their workplace itself. As a result of such
activities, the companies are not able to earn much profit in the marketplace itself. Thus, it
can be said that the unemployment is causing a major problem in the marketplace itself
(Baker, 2015).
The second impact of the unemployment can be said to be on that of the individuals
themselves. It is being said that the unemployment of the individuals affects and impacts
them in a much greater way than it does on the society itself. Although some experts believe
unemployment impact on the individuals vary between the type of the person the individual is
and his/her needs.

However, the most common effects of unemployment that the individuals can face
includes the problems of stress, which causes the individual to be depressed and remain
stressed. This depression and the stress that the individuals face can also lead to the negative
impacts on their families. This is also one of the reason why the people might resort to the
criminal activities itself.
Secondly, the individuals can also be impacted by the problem of unemployment in
the society, in the sense that it can cause them financial hardships in the society itself. All
these factors play an important role for the individual in the society to be affected by the
unemployment that he or she faces in the society itself. Thus, it can be stated that the
unemployment is a social problem both on the levels of the society itself as well as on the
levels of the individual itself (Caliendo et. all, 2015).
Other ways in which the unemployment impacts the social life of the individuals is
the way in which it leads to the changing of the lifestyles of the individuals in the society
itself. It is because of this factor that the people of the society who lives a high-class lifestyle
themselves had to adapt to a more lower form of lifestyle for themselves as well as their
family members as a result of the unemployment of the society itself (Baker, 2015). Thus, all
such factors and the problems of the society itself has led to the recognition of the individuals
of the fact that the unemployment is indeed a social as well as an economic problem itself.

unemployment of the society can be removed by the individuals otherwise it might turn out to
be a serious problem for the individuals themselves.
Thus, it is evidenced from the statements by the experts as well as the researchers that
majority of the markets of the world suffer from the problems of the unemployment itself,
which is a serious issue faced by the world itself in the current scenario in the world today as
well as in the future generations (Boyce et. all, 2015).
From the above discussions, it can be concluded that the problem of unemployment is
indeed one of the serious problems that the world is facing in the current times themselves. It
is because of the unemployment scenario in the world that the markets of the countries of the
world are having difficulties in earning profits in the marketplace itself (Baker et.all, 2015).
It should be noted that proper steps needs to be taken by the markets of the countries
in the world to make sure they are able to tackle the problems of unemployment which they
suffer in the marketplace itself, otherwise, the problem will have a more serious impact than
it does in the current scenario itself.
