Surveillance is considered a continuous observation of a place, person, group of people
and the ongoing activity so that an important information can be gathered. It is an accumulation,
gap and the investigation of the data so that an important information can be disseminated to
those who required it in order to take some action(Norris and Armstrong, 2020). Surveillance
help in making the good decision by providing the understanding of the timings. It assist in
monitoring and evaluating the patterns or trends of the diseases in order to make better
prevention and management of the non-communicable diseases. In this report, the discussion
will be made related to the contemporary issues with sociological perspectives. It will include
the sociological theory that will explained the one strength and one weaknesses of this theory.

The surveillance society is the close observation of the persons that they are caught for
their wrong actions and crimes. The social surveillance is important to manage, control and
influence specific population dan leads to the self management and provide directions on the
bases of the social media users(Reeves, 2019). There are various benefits of the social
surveillance which involve the safety of the public by improving the home security and even the
police work in the public areas in order to increase the safety of the people. By adopting the
surveillance, it assist in reducing the crime rates. The cameras ate installed near the places so that
the suspicious activity can be recorded and caught the criminals. The existence of the security
cameras act as prevention of the criminals in the areas. This surveillance help in catching the
criminals because the camera record the video which h can help in searching for the criminals.
This also provide the evidence and clues that can be presented as an evidence against the
criminals and provide clue to solve the crimes and cases. This also help in providing convenience
so that the driver who drive with high speed can be caught and action can be taken against him.
The sociological theory is a set of the ideas, framework and the principles which helps in
understanding and explaining something about the world. This provides assistance in explicating
the social world which may includes the nature of the social order, kinds of the processes and
influence of the social change(Armstrong and Norris, 2020). There are different types of the
sociological theory which includes the symbolic iteration theory, conflict theory, functionalist
theory and feminist theory mad many more. The symbolic interaction theory is defines as

symbolic interactionism which provides framework of the sociology theory for which the
argument is made related to the behaviour of the people that re influenced by the definition
symbolic meaning. In simplest form, the people understand the social world by making
communication and sharing their ideas and perspectives(Dillon, 2020.). This theory is explained
with the principles which involves the act of the individuals and the interaction that happen in
respect to the social and culture whereby the objects, people and the circumstances are examined
according to the subjective meaning of the individuals. This perspective emphasised on the fact
where human reacts according to the situation which influence their behaviour.
The second theory is the conflict theory where the society is in the unending conflict
because there are limited resources but the user are more which arise competition among them.
This theory considers the social and economic institution as tools for which the struggle are
made by the group of people, classes and others so as to maintain the difference and the control
of the ruling class. This theory stressed the role of the coercion and the power in order to
introduce the social order(Kushins and Behounek, 2020). The social order is maintained by the
supremacy for which power are lies in the hand of the political, economical and social resource.
The third is functionalist theory which is also known as functionalism is considered as major
theoretical perspectives in sociology. This theory contributes to the stability of the society and
enhance their productivity of the social orders. The functionalist considers that the societies are
held together to work with each other and they are also agreed to work among the group which
assist them in achieving them best result. The functionalism does not inspire the group to change
the social environment but different people have various perspectives to see the situation
differently and they also compensate by nature for the problem that may originate. The another
theory is the feminist theory which help in examining the status of the men and the women in the
society. The purpose behind this theory is to use knowledge so that it can improve the lives of
the women. This theory gives importance to the voice of the women and promote the ways that
are suggested by the women for the betterment of the society(Loyal and Malesevic, 2020). The
feminist theory focuses on the areas of the discrimination and the rejection on the basis of the sex
and the gender, objectification, economic difference, power and persecution.
The strength of the feminist theory are describes as it gives voices to the women to share
their concern and also considerer as the feminist movement. It raises the awareness about the
discrimination made among the people on the basis of the men and women. The women are

considered and given less importance as compared to the man for which they have raised their
voices and strive to eliminate the discrimination. This also raises the issues related to the gender
which is the strength for the growth of the liberal. The feminism strength the human rights and
creates the less discrimination. The are now able to get the better eructation and have higher level
of the freedom and leads to the overall treatment of the women. They have freedom to vote for
their own choices and can break the hierarchy of the male. The feminism increases the
confidence level among the women and provide better chance for leading the corporates which
help them in career growth. This develop the more tolerant society where the women ear treated
better in general.
The weaknesses of the feminism may includes the excessive advantage to the women
which may lead to the discrimination against the men. The women also preferred in cases of the
divorce due to which the frustration among the men increases. The women are not accepted for
the x certain potion foe which the preference is given to the men. The men and the women are
both have different characteristic and they both have different attitude, perspectives or opinion.
The more career provided to the women leads to the fewer to the children and do not make sense
from the historical perspectives.
CONCLUSION
From the above discussion it has been concluded that surveillance for the society is most
important so that the criminal activities can be prevented from being taken place. This provide
safety to the general publish and also reduced the rate of the crimes by instilling the camera. The
surveillance cameras assist in catching the criminals and recording the unethical practices which
is being operated in the area. Therefore it provide evidence which can presented before the
magistrate in a courtroom and also help in gathering the clues. When the installation is made in
corporation is the productivity of the workers increased and the sense of the security also
increased and provide the lower chances of the crime. Thus the report has discussed the
sociological theorem and the strength and weaknesses of the feminist theory.
