Were you aware of Canada’s extensive involvement in world affairs prior to this study?
Yes, I was aware of a little bit of information about Canada’s extensive involvement in world
affair but after this study, I get the deep information about this study. Canada is very active in
playing peace as its foreign policy is based on peace and not power and also fought the reason
behind the war (Villareal and Fergusson, 2017).
What connections that Canada has internationally surprised you? Why?
Canadian foreign policy is the policy which has surprised as this policy was used for both war
and peace. The western alliances have dominated by the Canadian government as they act as the
local partner. This policy has actively participated in NATO and a United Nation which has
internationally surprised because they were protecting from the cold war and helps in providing
global stability (Paris, 2014). Canada has made good connections at the international level and
mostly with the multilateral organization.
Do you see Canada’s international stance changing because of international leadership in
areas such as the Paris Agreement of 2016? Negotiations with the NAFTA agreement
Paris agreement has affected Canada in a good manner and Canada has played the lead role in
implementing this plan. This agreement has limited the global temperature and Canada has done
a lot for climate change. Canada is leading due to the change in international stance and this
agreement has strengthened to limit the global temperature (Harvey, 2016). The NAFTA has
replaced with the new agreement and negotiations have been beginning with Mexico and
Canada.
Other thoughts on how Canada is viewed in the world?
Canada is shifting the perception of the world in a good manner. They have known for the better
United States and for security. Canada is known for peace and there is the eradication of the
disease such as HIV/AIDS. The living standard of Canada is high and there is a multicultural
society so they are viewed as second-best country in the world.
