The university has been planning a new and big canteen within the university campus which is
scheduled to open by the end of the ongoing year. Some of the most common social initiate at
the University of Auckland are the canteen life. The ongoing canteen that was opened back in the
year 1980 was being warmly welcomed by all the students and the faculty for good reasons.
Studies have furthermore shown that the student’s gain many of the benefits from their life of
canteen. Some of the great ideas are born from the conversation and the gossips at the canteen
(Lachat et al., 2009).
The life at canteen in the university not only benefits the students by the provision of the healthy
and the nutritious food but also for their social lives , their comfort level and ease towards
finding new friends and also towards the level of their academic achievements. The university
aims towards a spacious canteen facility with various ranges of food and snack items for the

students and the other staff members of college with higher quality at a very affordable price
range.
Human beings, we all are social animal and hence the tenor of an individual’s life is one of the
essential aspects regarding their mental and physical health. Though the innovations of
technology has changes the way the people tend to interact with the others within the tenacity of
their daily living, the basic requirement of each and every individual towards social life has not
changed
In the context of University of Auckland, canteens are one of the essential parts playing a very
vital role in the removal of the tensions and refreshing of the students in the university. The life
at canteen has been one of the main focus for this university and it provides facility of clean,
spacious, and hygiene in the canteen (McDonald & Crandall, 2015). With the convenient
accommodation of 300 students at a time, this university gives importance to the social life of the
students. According the principal of the university, the life in canteen for the students of the
University of Auckland is equally essential as compared to the academics since it is to be
understood that the single minded focus over the academics of the university students tends to

The University of Auckland recognizes the social life of the students as one of the essential
