1. How can directors and teachers determine whether equipment is age appropriate?
The playing equipments play a crucial part in a playschool and determine its success rate
accordingly. Similar to the presence of the proper teachers, administrators and directors, it is
highly important for these persons to have a thorough knowledge before buying these items.
There are a number of considerations that needs to be kept in mind by the concerned people
before the selection and buying of the different kinds of the equipments. First of all the
knowledge about the equipments is highly essential and the director must check the age of the
children while buying the equipments. One must not buy equipments that are not appropriate for
the three year olds and might be hazardous to them. The selection of the age appropriate
equipments will help to ensure the reduction in accidents and also ensure the children
satisfaction. Apart from this a proper ratio analysis between the teachers and students or the
toddlers is also essential for the buying of the following equipments. The (NAEYC) guidelines
must be followed accordingly to ensure the implementation of the proper buying techniques.
2. How should Maria communicate to the director her concerns about the slide?
According to, Bae et al. (2017) communication is one of the most important aspects in a
toddler school or playschool. Being a responsible teacher she must be responsible for each and
every activity of the toddlers in the school campus. The responsibility of Maria can be fulfilled
with the presence of a proper communication in between her and the directors. The presence of
an effective communication in between Maria and the directors can help in the proper care of the
children. In such a case it is important for Maria to maintain a record or a file with her with
documentation of all the different accidents, her problems, the things she needs, concerns and
individual tracker on the improvement and performance of the toddlers. Maria must sit with te
director every once or twice a week according to the requirement in order to provide him with

the latest updates of each week. In case of an emergency Maria must call for an immediate
meeting with the Director and in case of such extreme emergencies she may feel free to
communicate with the director by phone and decide on the next course of actions. Thus
communication forms an important chain and an important resource in the maintenance of a pre-
school in a proper and effective manner.
3. What can Maria do to see that the equipment is safe for the children in her group?
The maintenance and proper use of the equipments of the preschool is one of the most
important tasks for the management of the preschool. Maria must ensure that these tasks are
completed according to schedule and Maria must ensure that there is a separate area for the
playing activities of the toddlers. The equipments must be kept at a safe distance from the
children as they must be used under her supervision (Chen & Chan, 2016). It is important for
Maria to keep the children in constant supervision while they play with the equipments. A
regular checkup and monitoring can help her to achieve such a feat. Maria must also ask her
students to use the equipment safely and practically show them the use of the equipments. These
kinds of safe practices by Maria are useful for the safety of the toddlers in the preschool.
